Story:
A Mafia Boss, trying to prove his worth to the Godfather, decided to eliminate some of the mafia's biggest liabilities. He, along with his two most trusted Henchmen, attempted to simultaneously kill all the Innocents by inviting them out to a mafia-owned mansion for a week vacation in the desolate countryside. Although wary, many of them came. The Mafia Boss hoped to kill them by sealing the doors, bullet-proofing the windows and automatically releasing Carbon Monoxide gas within the week. However, due to the intervention by an unknown third-party, the doors sealed prematurely, trapping the mafia in as well. The Godfather, upon contact by his underling, scolded the Mafia Boss. Then, over the Mansion's intercom system, announced that whoever kills their enemies within the week will be allowed to leave unharmed. However, if no one wins within 5 days, the doors will not be unlocked. And thus the game began.
Roles:
Mafia:
The Godfather (0): The head of the mafia. Although his underlings are participating, he is angry at their foolishness and favors no specific outcome. He will moderate the game and ensure everyone plays by the rules, with penalty of death. In other words, this is me.
Henchmen (2): An average thug working for the mafia. This character can vote, along with fellow mafia, on one character to kill each night. Wins if all non-mafia die.
Mafia Boss (1): A high up ring leader, working only under the Godfather himself. This character can vote, along with fellow mafia, on one character to kill each night. This character also appears innocent when investigated. Wins if all non-mafia die.
Innocents:
Civilian (5): A poor sap who got in deep with the mafia. This character has no special powers. Wins if all non-innocents die.
Pariah (1): An ex-mafia who knows too much to be let go. This character will appear guilty when investigated. Wins if all non-innocents die.
Doctor (1): A physician who saved someone the mafia tried to take out. This character can choose one person to protect each night. The Doctor may not save himself. Wins if all non-innocents die.
Cop (1): A policeman who is annoyingly good at learning what the mafia doesn't want him to know. This character can choose one person to investigate each night, finding out if they are innocent or guilty. This character's files (investigation-related pms) are displayed upon his/her death, however the Cop cannot kill themselves. Wins if all non-innocents die.
Neutral:
Vigilante (1): A rogue civilian intent on taking out as many mafia as possible, even if it means killing innocents. This character can choose one person each night to kill. Wins if all other characters die.
Procedure:
1. PMs will be sent out to all players explaining their roles and reminding them of their specific abilities. These PMs and any others sent by me during the game cannot be shared, posted, or screenied, and if anyone is caught doing so they will be immediately be killed and banned from future mafia games. The only exception is in the case of the Cop, whose investigation-related PMs will be automatically be shared upon his death.
However, you still may reveal your position as long as you do not show your PM
2. During the day, players are encouraged to discuss the game and possible suspects. They may also vote for someone to be lynched. Votes must be colored red or they will not count. No one necessarily has to die each day. However, because there are only 5 days before everyone dies, it may be in your best interest to lynch someone when possible. Posts may not be edited, to prevent confusion. First instance results in a warning, second in penalty of death.
Mafia may communicate in the prescribed chat during the day as well as the night.
3. During the night, players may not post. All nightly posts will be deleted. At night Mafia may vote on who to kill in the chat, however someone must send me a PM stating who is chosen. The Doctor may send me a PM stating who they would like to protect. The Cop may send me a PM stating who they would like to investigate. The Vigilante may send me a PM stating who they would like to kill. You may change your mind if you send me another PM in time. If you do not send me a PM about your nightly ability nothing will happen.
If you would like to commit suicide, and thereby leave the game, you must send me a PM during the night, or it won't count.
4. A game day will last 48 hours and a game night will last 24. After 5 game nights have passed, unless someone has won, (or if a stalemate results at any point in the game) they game will end in a draw between all those remaining.
The exceptions being if the same number of innocents are alive as mafia, in which case the mafia win. (As the mafia can no longer be lynched or killed)
5. If half of the players vote to shorten a day it will be shortened by 24 hours. If the day is already halfway over, it will end immediately. If half the players vote to lengthen a day, it will be lengthened by 24 hours. If half the players vote for one person, they will be immediately lynched and the day will end at that time.
Votes to lengthen or shorten the day still have to be in red
Have Fun!
