i was thinking, and maybe there is a way to encase it with a coating, which prevents breaking, and then, destroy it, so it is intact, until you break the coating

Amazing membranes! They're so delicate and fragile, yet they can hold anything.

I never thought this membrane would exist in the PG world, I never encountered anything like it.

With a thick enough 'surface' of stone, you could ignite the gas and have it all fall simultaneously, without damaging the player.

You could create so many dynamic scenes with this, a falling bridge, a building collapsing, a trap floor, cave-ins, the possibilities are endless!

yeah, the membrane aspect is pretty cool. The fact that you're standing on stuff that was never meant to be stood upon is awesome. Sheer opposing forces are keeping you up :}

could make a one way membrane with a line of bridge and some side bracers to keep it from disolving. Might be interesting, could create a growing cell effect when dropping mercury on it.

a single line of bird can eventually escape if not blocked in by two pixels above/beside/below.

for some reason it doesn't escape in the 3 bird, 2 bird pattern on the first page though. Think it has to do with the flocking algorithm, not sure though.

It is pseudostable when there is only one line surrounding it. It is stable enough for all purposes.

But if you have one line surrounding it... you can kill it with seed.

I just like having the certainty of knowing it'll hold.

Can also just make an open spot in the metal directly diagonal to one of the end birds if you still want to destroy it with seed.

personally just like using mercury myself.

I suppose they're all fairly controllable, so no real difference.
