Is it possible to link to the middle of a post? Like in this forum?

Nope, don't think so. Not to my knowledge anyway.

If there is a way, I bet it would be by using the UBBC equivalent of HTML's anchors. When you place an anchor in a page, a link that directs to the anchor will go to the part of the page that has the anchor, such that the position of the anchor will be as far to the top of your browser as possible while remaining "visible"...

Nope. Doesn't work. Ah well. Test[anchor=Hi]Hi[/anchor]

Oh well. Perhaps we could get a custom footer code to allow us to do it?
If it gets to complicated though then don't add it.

I'm sure it would be possible to make that code, but would it be worth it?

I dunno, is anything on the forum worth it? Is posting worth it? Is resizing the forum to a certain width worth it? Was going through the effort of making a new skin (GGoodie) worth it? Who knows, but we'll never know if we don't try.

Posting is worth it, it's what keeps the forum alive. The new skin is worth it, it's what keeps the forum pretty. My question was not if the entire forum is worth it, it is if this single code that nobody seems to actually use is worth it. People use posting, they look at the skin, but it seems there are very few people that use that code. Besides, nowhere do I find records of us actually installing that code. Until I actually see a code in the editable global H/F, it's most likely a default proboards feature.

I agree with qwerty here. Of course is the forum worth it. I don't remember the old skin, so I don't know. But there are just to few long posts that get linked too. Thats why I don't care about middle-post linking and won't code it. But I mean if you find someone who does it and it doesn't slow down the rest of the forum, they will probably still include it.

I'd use it. (which is why I'm fighting for it to be added) What I'm trying to say, is that we don't know who would use it if we added it. So we can't tell just from speculation whether it would be worth it.
I say we at least give it a try.

That's all very well, but the fact remains that we would have to figure out how to fix it.

Fix what? And the general problem would be, the one who posts a long text would have to use anchors, so others can link to specific parts. Or one creates a system that allows to link to every line feed or similar, would be possible without the needs to set anchor tags.

Haha, the dangers of multi-tab posting.
