Sublight Speed
Speed is sublight speed, which is only applicable during battle. sublight speed determines who goes first in a battle. When combat begins, ships with the highest sublight speed go first, descending to ships with lowest sublight speed. If multiple ships have equal sublight speed, then their order is randomized.
Warp Speed
Warp speed is how many sectors you can travel in one post. When you are in a sector and not affected by a warp disabler you can travel to any of the 8 adjacent sectors. You can not use your warp drive during battle.
Slots
Each ship has a specific amount of slots. There are three types of slots.
One can not add an extra slot to a ship under normal circumstances. It takes on post to remove a device from a slot, and one post to insert it, except when a ship has just been built. One can fill all slots in a ship with no need to wait, but only during the same post as it was built. After a ship is built, one has to take 1 post to remove a device from a slot, and to insert a new one. There is no limit to how many devices you can remove and insert per turn.
