This is where staff members and normal members can nominate others for easier access to the 'special' board. Also, members that cannot afford the full price may ask for nominations here. Please tell us exactly how you are experienced/useful in this area.
High staff nominations should ONLY be for people that have proven to be useful and experienced. Staff nominations should be toward people that could potentially be useful, and member nominations can simply be someone trustworthy. Two member nominations count as a staff nomination.
Without a nomination, admission costs 100 DBs. With a member nomination, it is 75 DBs. With a staff nomination, it is 50 DBs. With a high staff nomination, it is free.
I'm nominated Disabled and Regulus. They've both proven to be experienced, but neither can afford the password.

Meh... I'd ask for a nomination, but that is only 100DBs isn't much.
I'll buy the password for the full price. Thanks!

There you go, gave you the dan-balls. Although I suggest you do it in the Account Restoration thread.

Me? I'm honored. You know, I'm sure I could earn the required Dan-Balls quickly, one way or another. EDIT: I'm kind of confused. The way you have the prices listed, it looks like you can pay 100 to get in, 75 to get in and be a mod, or get in for free and be a high staff member, or something along those lines. I don't understand in what situation we must pay and how members get staff/high staff status.

100 to get in, 75 to get in with nomination from a member, 50 to get in with nomination from staff member, free with nomination from high staff member. All staff members, as usual, get it free.

If no one says "Person X ought to be able to access this SR Hack Board," then Person X has to pay the full 100 Dan-Balls to access it.
If a member says "Person X ought to be able to access this SR Hack Board," then Person X only has to pay 75 Dan-Balls to access it.
If a staff member says "Person X ought to be able to access this SR Hack Board," then Person X only has to pay 50 Dan-Balls to access it.
If an Administrator says "Person X ought to be able to access this SR Hack Board, so I'm going to give him the password for free so that he may revolutionize that board," then that Administrator will give Person X the password to the SR Hack Board for free.

That raises an excellent question: should we pay back the difference of 25 Dan-Balls?

Well, I'll ask publicly: shall we take on the principle caveat emptor (i.e. "Buyer Beware"), or shall users who buy before they get recommendations get the difference as a refund?
Caveat emptor would be easier on the staff on account that there would be less financial transactions to fix, but users would be discouraged from immediately buying the password. However, since users are permitted to ask if they may receive recommendations, it would be the user's fault for buying a password before asking for recommendations.
Refunds would be more advantageous to users, as they may buy the password and then get refunds later on when they receive recommendations. If this is the policy we adopt, there should be a time limit as to when someone can still receive refunds from "late" recommendations.

Let's refund if they ask for it. If it is too small to bother, then they won't bother asking, but if they pay attention and do ask for it, we can refund them.

Nice compromise. I guess that can be our policy, since it will be more fair than adopting a full caveat emptor policy, but less work than a total refund policy.

I don't want to sound Up-in-myself about this, but I would really like access to the special board. I am a third generation programmer, and would like to have fun with breaking things that weren't meant to be. I would LOVE access to this board 'cause I'd like to expand my universe, so to speak. I'd like to point out that I have no criminal record, and I would be a helpful addition to the team. Plus, I din't have many DB's. Anyone?

Thank you much, Tempy. Unfortunately, I still don't have enough DB's. No worries though, I'll work my way like everyone else. Thanks you much again!

I have the ability to change savefiles to my own desire settings: Items,EXP,Gold,Classes, and I think giving me access to the Special Board would definitely benifit both me and the community, as I will share my interesting findings and learn from others.

You are obviously experienced, under the assumption that what you have is true (a reasonable one, considering you sell your services to others), you would be useful, and your will to learn from others is a very good trait.
As an Administrator, I will nominate you and ergo give you free access to the Special Board. Congratulations.

I would love to have access to the Special board. I believe many people seem to have recognized that I do possess some skill in terms of what is being spoken of in that board. Maybe?
