Brr. It's cold up here. Or is it down there? I don't know. All I know is that this place gives me the chills, in more ways than one, and that we have finally arrived.
It's been a long journey from the relative safe haven of the Danbaelia to this hellhole. Veers got a bit of a knock on the head on the way over, so I'm in charge for a brief time. Here's a count of our current surviving dwarves:
I can see the previous expedition dug some into the mountain, for what I cannot imagine. I've told Monochrome to smooth out the ice some; we may as well build off their mistakes.
I can only assume that the top was some form of defense mechanism from whatever it was that utterly destroyed them. We did manage to find their long-snow-covered wagon some distance away, with some remaining supplies in it. I'll be using that battle axe.
I took the liberty of assigning the nobles. It seemed fitting to carry on the ruling structure that we used in Danbael. Of course, they're all crying for offices now, but I'll get back to them on that once we know where we are, where the stone is, and where we are going to sleep with the six trees we brought with us. Someone is going bedless, and I suspect it'll end up being Molopoy.
This region gives me a bad feeling, like it's haunted or something. I haven't seen anything dangerous yet, but I have a very strong urge to get inside as soon as possible and lock the door.
General Veers seems to be coming about now, so I will give command of the base back to him. I hope he's feeling okay.
Yep, a passalong playthrough of Dwarf Fortress. Yep, it's on a haunted glacier. Yep, we're screwed. We'll have to decide at the end of each turn whether to keep it or turn to savescumming. Since we may want to mod it at some point in the future (Doesn't have to be entirely vanilla, after all), I'll simply upload the whole game (currently vanilla).
Since GV does not, to my knowledge, play DF, we'll need some kind of excuse for the next player to command without actually having a dorf (Unless, you know, you have a dorf. Then it's fine). I'm assuming a friendly spirit temporarily took over his mind while he was unconscious, or he's leading entirely by messages from Armok himself, or whathaveyou.
Also, like many LPs of this type, we have a dorfing list! Huzzah! If we run out on the list, just pick random members and assign jobs that seem to fit.
*VIROS wishes to sit in personal quarters with all the levers locked in with him and occasional food deliveries. I like the idea, but we'll have to keep him happy; if he tantrums the whole base would fly apart at the seams.
