"Did you see that? Lev is getting slower!" I said.
I ran around Lev to try and catch him from behind. If we keep fighting him until dawn, the elemental shall weaken as soon as the sun rises. We'll have the upper hand then.
"Thor, Yewa, Warp! Wake up, we need some help here!" I shouted.
Yewa woke up promptly but Thor took a while to be awoken by her. Once up, we all came to Shadow Lev and tried to surround him, to tire him out.
"Remember, he is still Lev on the inside! Try not to hurt him!" I said.

When Shadow Lev tried to strike at Paradox, he wasn't going as fast as he used to be, but it was stilll too fast to dodge. Just as he tried to shield the blow, his necklace began to glow, and a multicolored, translucent sphere formed around him, weakening the impact quite a bit. Where he would usually be sent several feet away, it only knocked him back a few inches. "I think I just found out what the necklace does."
Then, Memzak had woken up the others. Great. I quickly told Warp to go easy on him, while Memzak notified Thor and Yewa. Then, something unexpected happened. Shadow Lev began to become surrounded in darkness for a few moments. Realizing what was about to happen, I quickly got behind cover and told the others to do the same. "Warp! Get behind me!" As he did, he got here just in time, for as soon as he had gotten under cover, Lev released an enormous shockwave of shadows. In the blink of an eye, our cover was obliterated. Warp managed to get away, but I was too shocked to do anything in time. Suddenly, everything went black...

"Heh, useful thing to have now that we know what it does." I said in reference to Paradox's necklace.
As Paradox shouted out to take cover, partially because luck was on our side, Yewa and I both managed to take cover from the blast. Thor on the other hand wasn't so lucky.
"Oi, where'd the lights go?" I shouted, once engulfed in the blackest black.
He ran around in circles for a bit until faced by two red eyes. He took out Calbador and began his fierce battle with Shadow Lev. Of course, Shadow Lev was stronger in the shadow dimension.

Shadow Lev charged at Memzak. He was getting stronger and stronger by the moment. Suddenly, the blackness flickered as one of Shadow Lev's eyes returned to normal. Lev started mumbling to himself as he reached for his arm. Then with one swift motion, he ripped it out. He blacked out. But the black Shadow Dimension didn't go away. And two pairs of red eyes dominated the area as the shadow elemental lashed out at Warp.

Umm... I think it was Paradox in the shadow dimension.
"Oi, get out here and fight me like a man you cowardly chicken!" Thor shouted out at the eyes. "Have at me!" He then shouted, frustrated that he isn't fighting him like a man.
Meanwhile, outside of the shadow dimension...
"He ripped it out! Lev beat the elemental, but something's wrong.... Why am I still feeling this shadow?" Yewa said after Lev ripped the gem out.
"It looks like our patience payed off, but I agree, something is wrong. The dark energy is still here. I can feel it." I then said.
I decided to test out the Mind Control and Emotion Control Gems. I lacked ANY practice with them and I don't have them anywhere near the level Zexor XI had them. Even once I get a gem I still need to practice it. It will take me years of sole practice of the death gem to master it to a level Paradox already has. This is due to him learning and practicing since he was born. The more practice I get with a gem, the better. I reached out with my mind to try and find out what was causing this negative energy. I then found it. Even though the gem didn't have a host, it was still alive. The shadow elemental's mind dwelled within the gem. The only way to beat him was to beat him in his own dimension it seems. A task which is very hard to say the least. After probing the mind of the elemental I attempted to try and further use the Mind Control gem to an extent I've never tried before. I'm going to try and weaken the elemental by trying to take over it's mind. It'll have to fight on two fronts then giving Thor and Paradox some help.
"Don't celebrate yet, Thor and Paradox are still in the shadow dimension and the elemental still lives in that gem." I said pointing to the gem.
I used the earth and stone gems to manipulate the ground and move people away from the gem. This caused Yewa to nearly fall over from the sudden shift but luckily she didn't. I also made the gem stay in a sunken hole with eight stone pillars bent over it focusing onto it. I'll use these pillars to try and help me with my mental battle to come.
"I'm going to try and use my mind to weaken th elemental while Thor and Paradox fight. I'll need all the concentration I can muster for I have never even attempted to use the Mind Control Gem to this extent before." I said.
I think focussed in on the gem and that malevolent mind. I was inside, unbeknown to the elemental. I'm sure that once I try and attack his mind he'll realize I'm there and fight back. I sent my first wave of attack, catching him by surprise, nearly taking over 50% of his mind. He soon turned the tables to shut me out completely from his mind. It was then the fearsome mind battle began. He had the upper hand, but at dawn that shall all change.
Back inside the shadow world...
"Didja see that?" Thor shouted as light pulsed through the shadow dimension once, signaling the first wave of attack on the elementals mind.
"Let's hope that survive t'is then, aye?" The then said to Paradox.

Paradox grunted in reply, currently thinking of something else. This world seemed to be becoming more and more unstable, and fast. Quickly, he told Thor that they needed to get out of there, quickly. Unfortunately, Paradox's mask was malfunctioning, and he couldn't quite see through the tunnel of darkness enough in order to find an exit. "Gee, wish Warp was here when you need him!" So, he simply ran in a random direction with Thor trailing behind him.

Thor followed Paradox as well as he could, and managed to sort of keep up. It was all just black to him. He stubbed his two twice though.
"Aarrrrhgghh!" I shouted out as the shadow elemental lashed back at my mind with his mental shadow strikes.
Yewa looked a bit concerned but she thought it would be best if she did not interrupt. I lashed back at the elemental stronger than before, I've learnt some of his mental weak spots... but he as also learnt some of mine. He has obviously had many mental battles before this one. (Considering he took over Lev)
I was fighting with all my might until suddenly his defenses weakened a vast amount. 'Could it be?' I thought to myself. I opened my eyes for a second to look around a bit. 'YES! Yes it was!' I then thought in joy as I saw a tiny light peak over the horizon, dawn was approaching!
I doubled up my mental forces knowing there is not much left before victory. I can only hope that Paradox and Thor are fine in the shadow dimension...

As the world crumbled, Paradox and Thor were running as fast as possible. By now, a clear light could be seen in the horizon. "We have to make it there before this world fades away, along with us!" Paradox's mask began to function once more; the vile presence of the Darkness Elemental was not so significant anymore. Now that he could clearly tell where they were going, they doubled their speed up in order to make it. Seeing as Paradox was not as strongly built as Thor, he quickly became fatigued, and barely above a jog.

" Gettin' a but tired now eh? Hop on my back, be my eyes." Thor said to Paradox.
The both sprinted toward the way out, the light of the world fading away gaining on them.
"Almost... There... Just a bit..." I said as pouring as much effort as I could into taking the elemental down. I can only hope Thor gets out in time. The light on the horizon got stronger as the sun peaked over the edge.
The air around the gem started shimmering as if the dimension was opening up. Thor must almost be out! And then it all happened in a second. Thor and Paradox appeared, the eight rock pillars exploded and the gem's shimmering stopped. The mind of the shadow elemental was completely gone. Burned by the light and dead forever.
"I'm glad to see that both of you made it out safely." Yewa said as I just panted from the effort of the whole ordeal.
"I'll prepare some potions to add to supper so that we can all have a good nights sleep and wake up tomorrow at top form! Lev will also need looking after, Warp you can look after your brother. He looks like he's about to drop dead. No pun intended." She said, and with that she left to gather ingredients.

Varoner's book suddenly floats in the air, opens, and sucks Varoner in. The Book then vanishes and lands on Paradox's head. Varoner falls out next to Paradox, STILL unconscious and bleeding beside the unreadable book. The Book stops vibrating, but continues to give off an eerie glow.

Later that night we all sat around the camp fire, enjoying a well cooked meal. Most of us were mostly back to normal, thanks to Yewa's potions.
I clutched the shadow gem in my hand. There was no more evil within it. I still hadn't added it to the ring of power as I had mixed feelings. I was both excited about it's powers and scared too. I knew it empty. No evil, no personality nothing but the power of shadow. I decided I'd add the gem, just not yet.
"Wonderful meal Yewa. It really filled me up!" I said, full of energy after a well cooked meal.
*Paradox then runs in.*
"What's the rush?" I asked. He then explained about a weird person who just appeared out of nowhere and was battered and bloody.
"And ye kick'd him ye say?" Thor asked while chuckling.

(OOC: That's nice, Paradox, REAL nice.) ---------------- Varoner really didn't feel the kick through his armor. Or his coma. The Book suddenly starts floating and moving in the direction of Paradox.

Lev is shuddering in the corner though, the memories of being taken over fresh in his head. Heedless of what was going on with Paradox, he turned to Memzak. "You need to shatter that gem. Now. I... I... felt something strange after I ripped it out and you supposedly destroyed the elemental. When I was possessed by the thing, it had tricked me into thinking it was defeated. But it was hiding, in wait. You need to destroy it. NOW."

When Paradox was talking, he heard a faint "whoosh"ing sound that told him something was coming. He turned around just to get pegged in the face with a random book. Hard. To the point where his mask cracked. "Hey! Who threw that-" Paradox froze. Then, shivers went up his spine. Quickly excusing himself, Paradox ran from the group as far as his feet could carry him; he couldn't let the others find out what was under his mask! Heck, not even his brother knew.

The Unreadable Book continues to follow Paradox, but slightly slower. Varoner begins to stir. Or maybe he's just having a dream. Who knows, he's been like that for a while.

"Ok, I'll do it tonight. In fact, please excuse me for a bit..." I said to Lev. I also wondered why Paradox made a hasty exit... Perhaps it had something to do with that book, but anyways...
I flew out away from the camp and after about 5 minutes of flying I landed. I took the gem out and placed it a raised piece of earth. I used the earth gem to make a focusing point over the gem. I then sat down and tried making mental contact with the gem. I look through it. Nothing is there. I am certain. Even whilst using the Mind Control gem there was no presence in the gem. The elemental was dead, but the memories still scarred Lev...
"Looks like I have no choice." I said.
I gathered as much stone as I could with the stone gem and I hardened it with the mind control gem and binding gem. I took the now massive stone and smashed it into the shadow gem.
I absorbed the shadow gem into the stone with the binding gem and kept it at the center of the stone. I then used the binding gem to bind metal into it and then shrunk the stone. I had the shadow gem surrounded by thick metal, stone and a mental block. Anything in the gem can't get out and anything from outside can't feel the gem. I placed the spherical stone in a little pack where I kept my obsidian messenger pebbles.
"That should do it, until further notice. " I said.
...and with that I flew back to the camp.

Lev was satisfied that that gem had been shattered, as although the cursed elemental might not even BE there, but with that cursed thing you could never know. Anyway, seeing that it had turned his fire gloves against him in his initial fight, he decided that it was too volatile. He should go with something non-magical. He had Memzak remove the enchantment, he made a inner glove that he would wear under his boxing gloves, went out into the woods for a bit, cameback with a strange-looking green paste, and started painting the boxing glove with the paste. He made sure to wear the inner glove and some sleeves he'd pout on to them. When he started getting some funny looks, he said that he'd found a plant, which was present in his hometown, that was known for being extremely poisonous on contact.

Varoner suddenly wakes up and wonders where he is. He then promptly opens his visor and vomits behind a tree. He then realizes that he's bleeding from a head injury and runs aimlessly away. Suddenly, he bumps into Paradox and quickly closes his visor so his face is hidden.
"Wah? Who are you?" he says in a language unknown to Paradox.

Back at the camp I ate another large steak and then set up a proper camp. Just in case.
I used the stone and earth gems to make high walls around th camp area and then made a stone slab house thing for everyone to sleep in. If they wanted I gave them a sky light to stare up at the sky. The walls around the camp were taller than I and were over a meter thick. Of course I made two doors/large gates that could be lowered from inside. I also lowered a ditch around the camp and then made some lava (via fire, earth and binding gems) to fill the moat. I then made a larger pit area for the fire and increased the fire in size so that the whole camp stays toasty warm. I also made stone slab doors for each persons sleeping hut thing if they wanted privacy.
There were multiple torches set out around the camp, to give light so that people could see.
"Heh, better safe than sorry." I said.
"I think ye overdone it jus' a bit, eh?" Thor said once it was completed.
"Well, the more practice I have with the gems, the better." I said.
"At least we are safe." Yewa said. "Lev, be careful with those berries. I've read up about then before, nasty things, be careful." Yewa said to Lev.
"Night, I'm going to bed." I said
"Night" Yewa and Thor both replied.
Inside my hut I laid down and stared at the stars. So many of them, and somewhere out there is Zexor, the real one causing all this pain and suffering... We shall end his tyranny. Eventually...
...and with that I drifted off to sleep.

"Don't worry, I know how to handle them. I'm a bit of an expert on plants, and as I said earlier, they were in my homeland." I proceeded to fall asleep. I had a nightmare during the middle of night, a horrible one about the shadow elemental, which only made me more unsure about it, breathed deeply for a bit, then fell asleep again.

(OOC: The shadow elemental is dead. The shadow arc has come to a close. It's now the begining of the life/light arc) Ooohoooo a new POV. I'm doing this post from Yewa's POV. Memzak went to bed. Ah, he deserves it. After all he did today he should really get rest.
Lev, Lev, Lev... those plants are so deadly... He must have studied them a lot to be able to identify them and coat his gloves with them. His gloves should be extremely deadly now.
"I think I'm going to go to bed too." I said while walking off to my hut. I asked memzak to give is a skylight so that I could stare at the stars as I go to bed. It was really beautiful. I then drifted off to sleep.
That night I had a dream. There was a beautiful woman glowing with light and bringing life everywhere she went. It was a wonderful dream until something happened, she got ambushed and was captured by some evil scientist! I woke up that morning with a scream. That dream was too real to be just a dream.
I woke up memzak and told him what I saw.

(OOC: I know, but Lev is still tormented by the dreams. I think that'll go on for the rest of his life. Or some other long period of time.)
I decided to go and test out my poison gloves. I ran out into the woods and was promptly attacked by a bear. A few punches of my gloves, and the thing has fallen over dead. I'm very glad I chose to study plants as my career when I was younger. It certainly came in useful and allowed me to train up while everyone else went off to fight the other cities. And what do you know, it also came in handy here.
I returned to camp, where Yewa was telling everyone about her dream. I muttered "Well, bad dreams seem to be in abundance here," recalling my horrible nightmare. "Ugh. It's good that that horrid shadow elemental is gone. Elementals, Ele- Waitaminute. You say she was positively GLOWING with energy? That means that that woman you saw in your dream might be the light elemental."

(OOC: Back to Memzak's POV) "Light... Life... She must be Paradox and Warp's mother." I concluded.
"This is bad, she is in trouble. So, who's going to wake up warp and tell him? We can tell paradox when he gets back from his random trip in the woods." I said.

When the strange being appeared before him, it muttered something that sounded like a question. Unfortunately, Paradox's all-in-one amazing mask was currently in disrepair, so he couldn't translate it. Even more unfortunately, the translator was two-way, so it couldn't even translate Paradox's native tongue. No matter how much he tried to communicate, it was just impossible.

Varoner was perplexed at this creature's dialect. He is suddenly distracted by a glowing light behind Paradox. He looks behind him and grabs the Book, which he starts reading. He seems to be trying to make sense of what Paradox is saying.
