I was like most of you before. I always thought powder toy was a rip-off of powder game, which it is. But I recently downlaoded today because I was bored and wanted to finnaly see it after a few months of coming to dan ball. I downloaded it. It is SO much better then powder game. Here are reasons. 1. There are around 10 times as many elements. 2. Anything you guys suggest here that never made it into powder game, made it into powder toy. 3. WAY more bg's 4. Unlimited uploads 5. More updates 6. Better graphics. 7. More players to control. 8. No noobs 9. In powder game, ha55ii has the next 20 updates already for PG already done, but he releases them slowly to keep you guys coming back to see what the update is. In powder toy they add updates right after they make them. 10. No java required. You might hate me for posting this, but PLEASE just try powder toy once

I agree that Powder Toy is better, I think that most users here have played it, and also agree that it is better. The styling for Powder Game is pretty nice, but that does not make it better.

Quite a lot of the elements, perhaps 30%, such as some of the walls or some of the life are noobish and useless and I find it confusing. Plus, I have zero time or way to play this in stealth. I've tried it before and find near all the BG's extremely confusing. Unlimited uploads are NOT a merit. They are a problem and a big one at that. Noobs could flood the save data and some great uploads could never be seen. I also find the fact that you can copy another upload at the ease of one button unnerving and disturbing. I don't care for new updates. If Ha55ii IS keeping them, which I highly doubt, I'd like to know WHY there was a skipped update that turned up on he next Wednesday because Ha55ii was sick, according to otascube. You don't know a thing about 9 and you don't have proof until you have a screenie with Ha55ii explicitly saying that your claim is true. Better graphics I don't care for, it's extremely hard to control and scroll if you use a laptop, which is what I really hate about it--you have to use a mouse. More players? I'd like to see a nice round number instead of hundreds of players that are difficult to control. In PT it's extremely hard to control the players and I suggest you not pursue this. No Java is not a problem at all. Like Cod said, it takes so little time to download and in fact is used in so many other applications that near every computer has it.
I think its only merit would be its extremely superior electronic system that I'd like to see put in PG as well someday.

mainly just confusing.
I don't get why wi-fi needs heat to work for instance. Temperature is rarely an issue in RL radio antennas.
I seriously doubt he has every single update out in a folder ahead of time. Some of the recent "social network" updates seem far too modern a change to have been thought of awhile ago.

Wifi doesn't need heat, it just sets the channels. It's like this because it's the easiest way to set them. And I think I'll add on to the things Code here wrote. I have never played PT for long, but there are a few things I can say. 1. There are around 10 times as many elements. The noobs on PG beg for more elements all the time. Although I agree that PT has some better tech elements, more elements does not necessarily make it better. Yes, but we still have Virus, Laser, Ant, Bird, Seed, Cloud, Spark, and Super Ball, none of which have been replicated in Powder Toy.2. Anything you guys suggest here that never made it into powder game, made it into powder toy. This one is a good point, although, a lot of the suggestions are quite nooby. 3. WAY more bg's See my response for more elements. We have 15 BG's. You have 11. 'Nuff said.4. Unlimited uploads It's not hard to get a spot if you understand the system, which I do. Although, most people have got it totally wrong... 5. More updates Once again, updates may not necessarily be good. If you add too many, you'll run out of good ones and keep getting useless ones... We get an update EVERY MONTH. You get yours at random dates over the course of 2-3 moths apart.6. Better graphics. Agreed. But the graphics cause me a lot of lag. BG-Shade, BG-Blur, BG-TG, must I go on?7. More players to control. Not nearly as easy to control as the PG player, and you don't really need that many. You have two Players. We have two Players. And ours work better.8. No noobs Lie. I know for a fact that Fartio uploads on PT. His uploads are horrific, and he re-uploads other peoples' work. Oh how much of a lie this is. This is probably the biggest fallacy in your whole argument.9. In powder game, ha55ii has the next 20 updates already for PG already done, but he releases them slowly to keep you guys coming back to see what the update is. In powder toy they add updates right after they make them. How do you know? 10. No java required. Java is free, and takes minutes to download. This should not present a problem. Still, I will give PT a try at some point. Apparently the electronics system is a lot better, so I may experiment with that... And now I would like to provide my points. 1) Faster. The smaller size gives me an average FPS of 35-42. My average on TPT is 20-35. 2) More BG's. Not that important, but I'll add it just because you were wrong. 3) Moveable solids. Boxes, Wheel, and most importantly, Ball. 4) Very complicated FUN elements like Bird, Ant, and Virus. 5)Better Player. Much easier to control on PG. 6) Working Drag tool. 7)Fighters. Very useless, but pretty fun. 8) While this isn't that important, we had most of the crap first. I mean, for God's sake your fireworks are the exact same color and Stickman looks exactly like PG's player. I'm not saying PG is better, and there are many, MANY places where it falls flat and the Powder Toy brings home the gold, but you have failed to list most of them. And believe me, there are a lot. And I'm not about to list them, so I'll let you get that one.

EDIT: Laser, Ant, Cloud, and Virus are FAWKING USEFUL. Cloud can turn to thunder or water. How useful is that? Laser we don't even need to talk about. Apparently you can make a laser with photons, but it can never reach the precision of the element in PG. Ant is extremely useful for making falling bridges, and Virus is a transformer. Extremely useful. Although I like Rubidium in PT: an explosive on water...

Wifi doesn't need heat, it just sets the channels. It's like this because it's the easiest way to set them. there's no real reason you couldn't just type the channel numbers in though. programmable elements would just make the whole thing alot simpler.

Which is? I don't see any point to PT without elements and features. The mods are banhappy and there are unlimited upload spots which is horrible. We're perfectly fine here. PG has far more useful elements, while PT's only merit is its tech and graphics. Face it, PG and PT are still equal.

Bads of Powder toy. 1. Came after powder game. 2. So many things to do and elements to play with makes it confusing. Goods: Everything else ... 1) Copied from Powder Game 2) No moving solids 3) Slower 4) No online version 5) Easier to plagiarize saves 6) No Drag tool 7) No ant, bird, cloud, or virus, all of which are more useful than you'd think. Again, you fail. You cannot march into someone else's forum, dish their best game, and then give only two points against your game, claiming they're the only things wrong with it. I learned that the hard way. You have again failed to mention the things that truly make TPT amazing, so next time, as I believe Qwerty once put in his personal text, bring a carefully prepared argument, or leave.

Powder Toy is awesome, but anon here (easier to type) is saying it is better for the wrong reasons. The reason PG has the noobs is because it still somewhat has the popularity. As soon as that shifts to PT, they inherit the noobs. Not to mention many of those are basically flat-out lies (BGs, player count, etc).
For the record: Most of us HAVE already tried Powder Toy.
Also, about banning you. I happen to be one of the admins here and I'd prefer you don't assume I'm like one of your PT admins. I don't ban people because of their opinion on two very similar pieces of webtoy. Were this reversed, a ban would probably occur, or at least a lock. Mods aren't the same on every forum.
You make so many assumptions. You list many incorrect reasons for PT to be better than PG (when you could have listed correct ones), you assume all PG players assume that PT is a ripoff of PG (we do not), you assume no PG players have ever played PT (most have), you assume that the mods here are like the PT mods (we (thankfully) are not).

Also somewhat true, you can use a lot of of other objects to drag, but a basic drag tool would be nice. 7. powdertoy.co.uk/Wiki.html?id=elements:life. A lot more life elements then in PG.

A moving solid? It's called a BALL or BOX. There are entire upload about these wonderful little entities, and look! Ooh, an elemental ball. Those can pack more fun and function than many of your elements never will.
If you think any of your life can be better than bird, ant, cloud, virus, or laser, think again. Your "laser" is a beam of photons that is far too wide and has far harder reflection. For our purposes laser can do almost anything an electronic system could want, excepting Wifi, which is extremely unrealistic due to need of heat to function.
I still prefer PG because of the oppurtunities that a single element can present that ten in PT need. I find the only good elements in PT are those ripped off PG, Rubidium, Liquid Nitrogen, plasma, and tech. The rest in my opinion is near useless and can't do much.
OSHI- Void too.
And you haven't mentioned a single thing about torch and the illuminating and transforming properties it possesses.

And this somehow makes it better? I think not.4. Thats good, you can play it without internet. If you don't have internet then you can't play uploads. But oh well. It requires a download which could contain a virus.5. Thats sadly true Nothing I have to say.6. Also somewhat true, you can use a lot of of other objects to drag, but a basic drag tool would be nice. Nothing I have to say.7. powdertoy.co.uk/Wiki.html?id=elements:life. A lot more life elements then in PG. Once again, it's not how many elements you have, it's what they are and how you can use them.1. I agree 2. Give me an example of a moving solid in PG. 3. Sadnbox games are to have experiments and have fun. The more elements the better 4. I downloaded it a month ago, still don't have a virus. 5. yep 6. yep 7. And bird, superball and ant are all pointless.

Bird and superball are both incredibly vital to survival of Powder Game.
I think you guys should play Powder Toy, it is actually a very fun game. It does not really matter which one is better, I think Powder Game has an easier way to draw things, but then again, I have not really used Powder Toy to draw anything. But yeah, for the most part I think Powder Toy is a better game.

We've already played Powder Toy.
Anyway, elemental balls and wheels are not useless (okay, maybe wheels a little). The fact that you don't have them doesn't mean they don't have a use. Just look up some ball courses.

I am offended by your stupidity. Saying ant is useless is the last straw, and you've pushed me to the edge of flaming. If someone else had read you saying ant is pointless, they would probably say, "AP5'll have a fit over this." And they're right. I'm an expert with ant. It was I who edited the dan-ball wiki page, who create the ant tech thread, who made the first all-out ant course in PG. You claim bird and ant are useless? I don't suppose you've seen my thread on ant tech? Very well then. I'll tell you why ant is useful.
1. It can destroy anything clearly and neatly as if one had used clear. 2. It can cut and open 2 wires simultaneously. 3. It can be controlled and create beautiful patterns and spirals. 4. It can be used to create several gates.
Is that useful enough for you?
And as to why bird is useful? Why don't you check the cloud computing thread? But as you're too stupid and lazy to een loom at my last post, I'll tell you here. 1. It FAWKING FLIES. 2. It can clear seed and ant walls. 3. It can be used to fly towards torch activate C-4. 4. It can be used to turn wheels. 5. It switches with liquids above it, creating many tech oppurtunities involving rust and mercury.
Do you think that's useful enough?
And superball, that strange bright pink element? 1. It can be used as a unique color in pixel art. Would you tell me if you have a pink element in PT? 2. It can be used to create illusions of spirals due to its fast up and down movement in Side-Loop. 3. It can be used to balance wheels. 4. It can be used to be an obstacle in ball courses.
And a moving solid? Are you really so, so, ignorant that you don't even READ my last post or REALIZE that a fricking BALL is a SOLID and it MOVES? And so is a BOX? AND THAT BALLS CAN HAVE FAWKING ELEMENTAL PROPERTIES THAT CAN PACK MORE FUN OR FUNCTIONALITY THAT YOUR OH-SO-GOOD ELEMENTS COULD EVER DREAM OF??
I'VE TOLD YOU ONCE THAT NONE OF YOUR ELEMENTS CAN COMPARE TO THE COMPLEXITY AND BEAUTY OF CLOUD, LASER, ANT, VIRUS, AND BIRD. YOU SAY MORE ELEMENTS IS BETTER? NONE OF YOUR STUPID LIFE CAN WORK IN CONJUNCTION WITH ANOTHER ELEMENT. YOUR STICKMAN IS USELESS, HALF YOUR BLOCK TYPES ARE USLESS, RADIOACTIVITY IS USELESS, LIQUID OXYGEN IS USELESS, BREAKABLE CLONE IS USELESS. USELESS, I SAY, AND NONE SHALL DETER MY OPINION.
My imaginary voice is hoarse now.
EDIT: Shoot, I just got nonja'd by so many people. Long posts can do that to you, especially with a rant.
Extraedit: Wheel is not useless. It's as good as thunder ball except cloning laser, and it can release many things THROUGH block. Which is where its main purpose lies, it is the only thing that goes through block.

Bird actually has tons of use, membranes, midair platforms, tech via seed removal and controlled liquid movement.
most unique element in terms of position exchange.

To lazy to read all ur rant. But just because powder game was 3 elements that powder toy does not, does not mean you need to have a hissy fit. Powder toy still has around 30 elements that are not yet used in PG. And I admit PT is more complicated then PG, because PG is aimed at children. It's still fun, but aimed at kids. PT is a complicated sandbox game, you need to be smart to figure out how to work wifi and the other elements work. PT is aimed at a more mature audience. And players in PT have lifebars

I've never sworn on the internet before. Don't push me by calling me immature. Just because I'm twelve doesn't mean that I can't come up with insults that will penetrate your thick brain.
And by being lazy you have proved my point once more. STFU, and try reading my rant. Those 30 elements are useless. Tell me more than 3 uses and I'll believe you, but you have a weak argument, weak points, and a dumb mind. We have 15 BGs, each with a specific purpose, and your 11 BGs don't make an ounce of sense because in 10 of them half the things are glowing. Plus lifebars are stupid and belong in RPGs.
And don't you even DARE CALL ME STUPID. You don't know my academic achievements nor the achievements my school has, but let's keep it straight: You're a filthy hypocrite by advertising on an unrelated site, and you're disobeying your own forum posting rule 11. Get out.

My God, if you are going to march into someone else's forum, dish their best game and pretend like it's all fine, you have to at least read everyone's arguments. I've read every one of your moronic posts and not one of them has make a solid point to TPT. And I understand that after living on the TPT forum for so long, this whole freedom of expression thing must be exciting, but please, do not use it against to insult other members, or expect to face some serious rage.
And life bars, really? How does that possible compare to having an actually functional player that doesn't look like it's having a seizure whenever you try to make it jump. I will say it again, TPT is better in most areas, but you are listing all the wrong reasons.

...Really? PG aimed at kids? Go check out some of the better uploads and see how "kidlike" it is. PG isn't aimed at kids any more than PT is, and the mere fact that you believe it is shows that you are looking at all the wrong aspects. You're looking at the "lololo i can make volcano" aspect, whereas we're looking at the "fluid transportation using a bird-seed conveyor belt" aspect. Shows what PT does to you, I guess. When you have everything you want handed to you on a silver platter you lose the creative approaches that make sand games great.
By all means, if you want to show us a PT calculator that doesn't rely on the in-game metal-and-electricity system, feel free to do so.

By all means, if you want to show us a PT calculator that doesn't rely on the in-game metal-and-electricity system, feel free to do so. And while you're at it, find me JUST ONE 'stickman course' that uses the kind of complicated tech mine do. Also, any claims about PT's pixel art being harder is no longer viable since PT recently added a decoration layer.

I think Powder Game and Powder Toy are both aimed at kids, the "better" uploads on Powder Toy don't really show that it isn't. Mainly because most of the better uploads on Powder Game aren't very good, and are very childish. I think the uploads on Powder Toy are generally higher quality, or maybe it is just that there are actually some uploads that are good, but I guess most things just don't meet up to my divine standards. I still enjoy both games, I do not see why some of you guys are getting so upset, I mean, the person who made this topic's name is "PowderToyIsBetter", they are just gnoming.
