UC solved it, but he unfortunately cannot submit his entry due to guessing incorrectly. There will be 49 more puzzles to come. We will move to the next puzzle when someone correctly guesses the first time, or the deadline is reached.
Cod and Satar, it could technically be reached by promoting a pawn to a bishop. You request for moving bishops orthogonally is denied.
Remember, the deadline is 3:18 AM on Monday 7/25, FST. Have fun! And the next puzzle be Sudoku! ;D

That is correct sir! *shakes hand ferociously*
If you look closely at the position, you will find that the ONLY POSSIBLE MOVE that black could have made previously is by moving b7 to b5. Therefore you can take c5 to b6 by en passant, which is the only non-checkmatig move in the position: cxb6 e.p.
Unfortunately I will need a short amount of time to procure the second puzzle.
Sir, due to your lack of an account you will not be able to receive prizes. You will still get points hough.
He was correct and got a complementary prize of half a point. It's easy if you put the right mindset to it. Yes, mate instantly after white's move. There IS a solution. Also, this is from WHITE's point of view. YOU'RE WHITE. Mkay, Lew? And Cod, don't worry. They change around a lot.
Oh, that was pretty tricky. Tricky indeed. By the way, you should keep the puzzles so we can keep looking at them again. (Like put them in a spoiler named 'past puzzles' or something)
Yes, that would be appreciated... So that I will know if I was correct on the guess I was going to make (but was denied) or not... Also, how unfortunate that they are not all going to be Chess puzzles... I take a favoring to Chess...

I am very unpredictable.
My parents are being dum by not letting me on the computer. If you have the slightest idea how to play sudoku, you'll understand this. Remember, DO NOT give your answers yet. I'm adding a variant to sudoku with more numbers in after this, and you must submit BOTH answers to win.
Heare we go, part one of puzzle 2. 0's represent blanks.

YESH! I got some time to procure images. They will be up VERY SHORTLY.
Edit: Lew, Lolwut It has to be an ACTUAL MOVE. I didn't really interpret that as an answer, and if it was an answer, it was still incorrect. You never said a thig about en passant captures.
Colors for the top puzzle are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, purple, brown, and gray. Colors for the bottom one are maroon, red, pink, hot pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, purple, brown, and gray.

Lol. The bottom one is a variant of sudoku known as maxi. It is played the same way except there are twelve numbers. Have fun! Also, I used colors instead of numbers. Now I got to leave for a while, I'll leave you in turmoil...

Kden. I might not have enough though cause I'm saving up for things like the filthy rich badge and board. Perhaps we could ask i the prize money could be augmented by using a limited portion of DBs from the Dan-ball mint? (lol) Meh. By the time we're done with 50 I might have more. Prize money is temporarily increased, but I'm setting a limit of a thousand until I get a LOT more DBs or get money to give out for teh prizes.
Also, GV OSHI YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO DO THAT NOW You're being a bit too exposed here. >.> They have to be together to count and you just released the answer for all to know. :/ meh

Well, I did say that I will post the next solution in the next few hours. I do not expect that alone to count, of course.
As for posting that in the open, isn't that what everyone else did with their answers? I thought PMs were only for those who did not get the answer correct?
Post by Anonymousperson5 on Jul 25, 2011 6:34:01 GMT
Yes...but you only submit them when they are together. It's sorta like analyzing the chess puzzle and showing your Nalysis to everyone. It's allowed but doesn't count, and it lets everyone build off that. >.> You'd normally show everything when you're making your guess...

Excuse me, you know that indigo is darker than blue? Technically, what I called blue is more turquoise and what I called indigo is a dark blue, and your explanations are making me woozy... Give me some time to think...
I'm sorry, but unless I am sorely mistaken, the bottom right corner of the center top box in part one does not appear very green to me.

Waitwut I change the original second puzzle? That was just the thing in mah sudoku book. I put it in colors for disorientation...you just added your own key. Gah! Yes, you can change your key. And I'll give you a point cuz you struggled so much.
