That game really never gets old, does it? Strategy, weapons, etc?

I think it is pretty cool, I first played it a few years ago. I remember that it was all pretty easy, up until you got into the Plantation, but even then, it was still not too hard. I am not sure what to say on strategy, I think that it is just the basic idea you should have when playing a side scroller.

I've gotten up to sand zone on my current playthrough. Sad to say I couldn't hold off and traded up for the machine gun. My poor polar star. I mostly use the bubbler anyway at this point.

Which boss(or part) are you currently at? I switched for the machine gun on my first play through, and it was not too bad of an idea, that is a pretty good one. I think that the Polar Star is also pretty good, even if you don't get the upgrade. I think there is that one fat(good one) Mimiga you fight, in that stage, I recommend using the Fireball for that one, it is good because it's a pretty flat fighting ground, and it is easy to avoid it and its projectiles.

I just beat Omega, actually. I'm gathering puppies now.
I usually start off boss fights with any missiles I have left, then the fireball, depending on the situation. I'll have to get the nemesis next time I play, though.

I'm pretty sure you can still get it, you don't have the blade yet, do you? I think that you can also switch the blade for the nemesis and vice versa, at any time the small man is available.

I'm about to get the blade. I'm entering the frenzied Toroko fight. EDIT: Scratch that, I'm at the core battle now.
