Within hours, my Steam account will no longer be pointless. I now know what I must do after I submit my essay on Socrates and take my physics test...

Hasn't Portal 1 been free to play for a long time now?

It was free when Portal 2 was sold, or something of the sort, if I believe correctly.

It's too bad this ends, but I guess I will download it and play it a little bit. Thanks for posting this.

There was one time when Portal was free to acquire for a weekend, and now it's free to acquire because Valve is proud that educators are using Portal to teach physics and problem solving in the classroom. The first time, I didn't have Steam and didn't plan on getting Steam, so I didn't get Portal. Now that I have Steam, I got Portal and finally have it.
Be it as it may, I finally own both Portal (on Steam) and Portal 2 (on XBox 360)...
