lol i own one with puzzles too. i don't think it's the same book as you guys, but it has the same kind of questions. here's one:
A woman watches her husband plunge into the ocean from a cliff. She returns home later, to find him chopping vegetables in the kitchen. How is this possible? (note: im trying that from mind so if the phrasing or whatever is wrong..)

The man swam out of the ocean, then went home to prepare food.

A man walks into a bar and says something. A woman murders twenty children and gets away clean. A man leaps off a cliff and chops vegetables. A paradox is a paradox and this is a lie. What part of this is the riddle?

No part of "this" is the riddle, or if that isn't what you meant, then the part that asks which part of the post is the riddle is the riddle...

Even though many know me My form in this riddle is unknown to many I live with four of my kind Although they represent four extremes, I stand in the middle I am made in the fires, yet I am absorbent
What am I?
Another What am I riddle coming soon. I'm not a good poet, but I'll try to revise them to rhyme.

K, I'm going to update this post with a second riddle. I'll post the solution 10/15 if I have time.

No, but pretty close. It's not carbon, it doesn't really stand in the middle, nor does metal.
Knewthing My smaller friends were found in antiquity My discoverer wanted me on his gravestone I was never there because I could have been misconceived I am ingrained with a number, and two plus this number is the age of the man when he discovered me
Who am I?

(Carbon is in the middle, as it has 4 valence electrons out of 8. It's form, giving electrons or taking, can be either.)
Is it... uhhhh... That's a little broad... is it, uh, America? No? I dunno.

Damn, I KNOW I've heard something like that before... There once was a man who didn't have eyes. He went to the forest to view the skies. He saw a tree with apples on it. He didn't take apples off it, yet he didn't leave apples on it. Explain.

LEWSWOREWUTLOLLEWDONTSWEAR>:U
Erm, how the eff are you supposed the view the skies without eyes, if you are a man? But there were two apples on the tree, and he took one (not plural) and left one (also not plural)
Uh, since when does carbon absorb water? But at any rate, the answer was 土, as in 五行. Lew said 金, but that is fourth, not third in the cycle of 5. 土, or earth, represents a combination of yin and yang, a middle ground during seasons, and an inward movement rather than a cardinal direction. It is generated by fire and absorbs water.
Yeah, I guess it's very general. I'll edit it.

Erm, how the eff are you supposed the view the skies without eyes, if you are a man? That's the main part of the riddle. Once you've worked it out the rest is easy.
