Gladiators are a melee class, often used as shock troops or to deal with small groups of enemy infantry (being strong enough to cleave through flesh and bone). They have considerable ability to deal damage per hit, although they're the slowest of the three melee classes as far as attack speed goes. They wield swords almost as big as they are, which their exoskeleton allows them to use, and which contributes to the immense power of their attacks- which can slice through metal.
No normal man could ever possibly hope to lift one of the swords, which is why a system of pistons connecting the shoulders and wrist braces is in place. It provides stability, strength, and swinging power to the Gladiator. Leg rods are also added to the Gladiator's exoskeleton, so the weight of the sword and system doesn;t crush the rest of the exoskeleotn. These leg rods also provide agility and move strength. Three upgrade packages are provided for Gladiators. The STR package increases simply increasing the raw strength of the pistons, allowing for more powerful, metal splitting hits on solid strikes. The DEX package increases the preciseness of the pistons, allowing the Gladiator to aim and guarantee more solid hits. The MAG package increases th epower and efficiency of the MP Motion Power device embedded in the flat near the hilt of the sword. The MP device gathers energy when the sword swings, gathering energy for the secondary attack mechanism found in some swords, which allows them to attack with a powerful technological effect when the MP has gathered enough energy. The MAG upgrade makes the secondary attack take less hits. Despite the heavy sword and shoulder system, the leg rods allow for extra agility and strength, and the system doesn;t actually much reduce agility. This allows for heavy armor to be worn.
Weapons:
The Training Sword is a neon red (and thus very easily identifiable) sword, which is both considerably lightened, being made of polycarbonate segments, able to bend upon too much impact, and heavily padded. All of these contribute to make the Training Sword a safe weapon for training, both pre-acceptance into the combat forces, for routine exercises, and pre-mission training.
Known Gladiators:
Alan Gian, Head General of the Ranger Corps.

The Sword is a titanium large sword, 5 feet 5 inches long, and standard issue to all gladiators new to combat. IT i powerful enough to slash through metal, although it isn't particularly powerful on grazes. It is almost always scrapped when a newer weapon s availablem although the fact that more powerful teams can achieve the same difficulty ranks as lower-power teams and therefore fight them on the VERSUS training simulator makes them popular for such. It is not to be underestimated though, as it is very powerful for use against infantry and able to deal out substantial amounts of damage to tanks and such.
