There didn't seem to be anything wrong with it.

It wasn't deleted yet. The admin has gone completely nuts, so we are rebuilding while we still have access to that one over here. This time without him.
There isn't anything wrong with it but the admin. He's threatening to delete it for who-knows-why.

I see.
Has anyone asked him why he wants to do it?

Plenty have. None got a halfway decent response.
Apparently he is "sick of all the drama". Guess he didn't know he was causing most of it.

The situation is the following. The admin of the old forum (TheListo) claimed for a long time to develop Powder Game. Many (especially some other moderators) believed him for a long time. A few said they have seen prove that he is indeed developing PG but that was a long time ago. So some people doubted him for numerous reasons. In the last few months some started an attempt to contact ha55ii the head of dan-ball. Listo locked some threads, said "go back on topic" even if we were on topic and similar. In the end we succeeded to contact the author of the iphone games and it seemed possible to contact ha55ii himself. My opinion: I don't believe he was developing PG. He lied to us over years and got a lot of fame for it. Now his fame was about to end, so he became an angry kid and pulled the plug.

Lucky for all of us, disabled made a static clone website. With all the boards and threads and posts. In text form. Saved before destruction. (the board names are the URL names for the board, not their actual name (but I think you can figure them out)) Check it out here! Most of it was saved. Lucky for us. Thanks Disabled.

Awe. Some. I daresay Disabled earned himself some dan-balls and a lot of points if we hire more staff.

I looked at the back up thing. Does it only have information from threads? Any thing from profiles?

Nothing from profiles, I don't think. I guess we'll just have to estimate on your posts and dan-balls.

Listo was threatening with the deletion of the forums by the 25th of May, for reasons unknown to us. Shortly before the 25th came, a new member under the name of ‘Lag’ joined. Listo claimed that it was a close friend of his, and proceeded with giving Lag the Site Owner position. By then, several important threads were deleted, such as “Request an Element”. This was brought up in a thread, and Lag's response was that the deletion of the threads weren’t in the security log. That being impossible, Fox and Qwerty expressed their doubt of him. Lag went on in a spiel of “Being loyal to me”, and around that time I’m guessing, GeneralVeers was making a backup forum, this one. Eventually Lag was getting close to demoting Qwerty for “Trying to put a keylogger into the Nonja Game, to get Listo’s pass”, but Qwerty simply stated that it was a possibility. He was never going to do it. Soon, the ODBF was slowly dying, and this forum was being populated. Chrono placed a code in the H/F that showed a “We’ve moved’ sign, that you ran into whenever you went to a thread into the forums. Later, the forums were deleted, and Listo claimed that the sign violated the Proboards Terms of Service. That wasn’t possible, seeing as how Qwerty got it checked with the Proboards support forum. Which means that Listo deleted the forums, or Lag. But, luckily, Disabled created a program which backed up the whole forum. So, now it’s all archived, even though it was deleted. Anyways, Lag could’ve been Listo.
And that is what happened.

This is the third or second most dramatic forum I have ever seen! Good job!
If Lag was really a friend of Listo's, then Listo made a mistake. Keep real friends out of online forums, it's a mistake.
And Listo definitely isn't the powder game creator or programmer in any way. When I made the forum he was just some random guy who joined, he seemed capable and intelligent, and I promoted him. Apparently he was ambitious too, I never gave him the admin spot. I just left a thread in the staff zone explaining that I was leaving and the details for access to my account. He grabbed it rather than sharing it or letting one of the other staff members have it, so good job there. Give him some credit, the forum's still rolling along and that's good.

Give him some credit, the forum's still rolling along and that's good. Mainly thanks to TSL, and later Qwerty and GV as well. Hopefully now the forum won't be as dramatic as it always used to be.

I'm actully not surprised that TheListo was lieing to us saying he made Powder Game. Why would ha55ii hire a random guy from across the world, powder game does say ha55ii on the bottom of the screen. TheListo is a jerk and I hope we never see him again, he erased my account so I had to make a new one!

What about teh great badge. I mean you have to do something really great for that, not even I have earned it. Yea, he deserves it.
But regarding listo, I would really like to believe him but lots of the evidence goes against him...
As to the old forums.... I don't think we'll ever forget this... The Great Migration.

I prefer Liberation Day, but that works as well. It's the most dramatic thing that has ever happened here, and that is saying something.

Although in my head it's always going to be The Great Migration.
...but Liberation Day is good too...

We can argue about the name over in the forum holiday. The point here is that what is done is done, the old forums are gone, the new forums are in, and Listo is taken care of. Kinda gives new meaning to that old "They know of our plot to assassinate Listo!" screenie. I forgot where I put that thing...

Hehe, it seems to have worked... in a sense....
Anyways, shouldn't this thread be locked or something? As we kind of are on topic..... (from the forum being deleted to Listo's Assassination)
meh...

Well, there isn't much left to consider on the deletion of the old forum. The move was incredibly successful.

Last two posts on this thread was a bump....
Or is the bump rule still abolished?

Post by Rock on Aug 26, 2010 20:57:01 GMT
OK, sorry if this is still considered a bump even though it's only been 9 days, and that it's probably off topic, but i read a post that said "It takes 3 minutes o download, decompile and xxxxxxx PG" and said that there were future updates in some code thing. So, does anyone know who said that, cuz I wanted to PM them asking what they meant/how to do it, and I can't find who said it.

I didn't say it, but it takes 1 minute to download the game. Decompiling ... you need a decompiler... then it takes another minute. Considering future updates, the only reference to a future update is referenced already by qwerty here but you can find that without decompiling it, you just need to unpack the jar archive. Still this is very off topic...

Indeed, but this has nothing to do with the topic. Since control of the forum is now in the hands of three people instead of one, the chances of this happening are... Well, actually, seeing as any one could take it from the other two, higher. But at least we trust the admins for the most part here.
