Hello everyone! I am holding this contest to see who can design a Minecraft texture pack for my channel, The Gap. The texture pack can be from 16x16 to 64x64, and preferably a detailed (more than default) texture pack. THe general theme should be an adventure pack. The winner will receive recognition in the credits/description and my eternal gratitude. *CONTEST OPEN*

I'll give it a try, this is a great theme for a texture pack.
Just wondering, could somebody please upload the current Minecraft textures?

Well THIS is coincidental... I was just planning to make one myself... I just need to be able to open the actual .jar file...

Okay... I need to download 7-zip... Or do we only have to do block textures?

Okay. And mobs, too... I'll start. I apologise if this causes any delays on the shop.

Ugh... six days and only a third of the way through the block textures... When will the contest end?

Well, there's not a deadline to finish by (within reason). Deadline to enter by is the day after the day after tomorrow.

Okayden. I've severely fixed and completely redone some textures. Hopefully it'll look a little better now. It's only native resolution and doesn't entirely fit the theme, but I'm making what appeals to me and my texture pack is really just for personal use. Anyhow, I'll get started on the icons.

Are you asking how to use a 64x64 or how to make one?

No... You don't have mc, so you wouldn't know. I'm talking about how to change the current texturepack to 64x64 textures...

Unless you use Optifine, you first have to have something called MCPatcher. I don't know the full details since I just use the default texture pack, but that's where Google logical-or YouTube logical-or the Minecraft Forum will come in. This might come in handy, compliments of a link at the bottom of the Minecraft Wiki for installing HD textures. As for creating the textures, most of the image changes will result in simply taking the items.png and other such images and resizing the image until you get the appropriate dimensions. Any of the actual artwork will be up to you, naturally...

No... You don't have mc, so you wouldn't know. I'm talking about how to change the current texturepack to 64x64 textures... Just make a terrain.png that is 4x bigger. You'll need a modified client to run it correctly.

no you won't, you just have to shrink that image by 4 when you're finished

Is anyone near completion? Blocks and Icons, yes. Mobs, GUI, Items and Entities? Not even started.

Okay, icons.png is done for mine. I'm not telling you which icon is which so don't bother asking.
Terrain is officially done! I don't do weekly snapshots, so sadly the .png is jungle-incompatible. Also, what do you think of the new dirt textures? Are they better or should I keep the style of the old ones? You have to try it in-game to see what I mean... As the chests have separate files, they will still look like the default ones for now.
