It's a new project. It appears it's made only to make a more fluid and easily programmable. Ha55ii also mentioned something small that I don't understand. Some Japanese thing. Looks pretty cool. It has a bigger screen too. I could make more complex C2L here. I hope Get/Set comes in after the elements are remade.

We may have to recreate logic gates with whatever system we get first(some rules may change, for example lightning's turning clockwise). Besides, I'd rather have get/set before elements remade.

Reminds me of the old pg game at v.1.2 Shouldn't this be listed under another game page as it's a different project.

So this will be a new version of PG, but with liquid simulation. My computer is SERIOUSLY lagging, but I can make out from the the words that everything is a liquid?

Get a new computer that's capable of running java correctly without lagging so much. That's what I'm doing :3

No, everything is a pixel. Seriously though, kind of a flowing pg game

The wind has been basically perfected in this game. This honestly better not replace PG though...

Really? I sure hope he doesn't abandon PG for this....thing. Just changing the physics a bit is not worth resetting the entire game, than going through the entire development again one element at a time.

As said above, it's probably a project to test the fluid motion and script code. Hopefully the things from the previous PG will all be added.

Ha55ii rewrote the script codes, so there are tons of elements that could not be possible in the original PG. Ha55ii will probably add all the original PG elements, and make lots of new ones...

I have been away from the forums for months... But this, is so huge that i had to come comment about it.
It looks like it's gonna be what the name implies. PG 2. Just like normal powder game, but some how better.
New elements would be very nice. Especially ones not possible in the original PG. But is it worth waiting forever for PG 2 to catch up to PG?

PG2 looks and feels pretty awesome, but I can only hope they catch up soon. He has the elements and their reactions already in the old game, but I'm not sure how hard adding them to the new one would work.

I would imagine it would just be a matter of creating an Element class, possibly a few interfaces or subclasses for certain classifications of elements, and then instantiating the class or those classes as specific elements...

He might not incorporate some things like vine because that strays away from the point, fluid dynamics. All in all, it has a lot of potential. I think its updates will be staggered. SR got a lot of updates recently. :U
EDIT: This thought just occurred to me. It could be updated at the same time as PG, just like Android and iPhone versions could be updated at the same time. But not very likely.

PG2 could become the new PG though, and he might stop updating the first one.

Y'know, Alpha might be right. What's the point of updating an old version, when you have a new one that's even better?

Because PG has some things PG2 will not have. Ithink They have different purposes. I think you're missing the point of the new game. It's not just the reformat, there's the different purpose. There will be different things.

This is... beautiful. Make SIDE-LOOP, remove all block, add powder and wind. It's beautiful. Beautiful. I could watch this for days. Now if I could only duplicate this. EDIT: Beautiful. I love PG2. EDITx2: All of these images were created by removing all block, setting it to LOOP, adding lots of powder, and then adding wind so that it all flies in a direction. I add a small puff of wind in another direction. EDITx3: Rolling hills, anyone? EDITx4: In the end, if you have no block and SIDE-LOOP and don't touch it at all, there will just be wind going in one direction. After this, the wind will die down, and it will all fall downwards. The first step is somewhat quick, but the second step is slow. Every picture you see was made on the way to the first step. EDITx5: Added spoilers because it made this post very large. EDITx6: So I added some block. MOAR PICTURES Let the hills roll on forever... (But they don't) EDITx7 Gravity. So important, yet so weak. GET DOWN HERE!

Well, Cod, I think here is your practical use of blur.

One big difference between the wind in PG1 and PG2:
In PG2, if you have an area enclosed in box, and don't add any wind in there, it will behave as if there is no wind in there, even if there are extremely strong winds everywhere else. In PG1, it would slowly get pressurized or depressurized.

So, that means those antigravity uploads based on the strong, even flow of pressure from high to low caused by that glitch and the lack of a floor won't work in this one. Any other major changes?

Post by Elmach on Dec 11, 2011 22:15:43 GMT
Shouldn't this thread be moved to the new PG2 board?
Also, although that method of antigravity won't work, if you are careful enough, it is possible to make upwards wind carefully enough to counteract gravity. If you aren't careful enough, though, you will end up with everything flying up.

Oh, wow, it IS much more fluid. Expect whining PT noobs soon. I honestly doubt that any TPT members would actually whine about it, in fact now that the pressure systems are more similar, it may help unify both communities as it would be easier for people from the other communities to play the games without having to relearn that much. powdertoy.co.uk/Discussions/Thread/View.html?Thread=11975&PageNum=0

I like how in the PT thread the PT players are saying they're going to troll. They don't even realize they actually have noobs. :U Of, course, they're pretty arrogant and think they're perfect.

I like how in the PT thread the PT players are saying they're going to troll. They don't even realize they actually have noobs. :U Of, course, they're pretty arrogant and think they're perfect. I find your comment both offensive and hypocritical as well as a false representation of the PT community. Tudoreleuu and me4502 were the only members who have even stated anything that could be considered retaliatory and only as a response to Lew102's comment. Even then, only Tudoreleuu mentioned trolling. So far, all I see are two PG players stating that PT players are noobs yet, the closing thing to aggravation shown by the PT community are merely a pair of frustrated remarks. Please inform me if there is some sort of incident that seems to have affected your views as despite being a member of the PT community for several years, the main reason for even mentioning PG in our forums are caused by random noobs who want PG-style elements. We do know that much like your community, there is an unfortunately high noob population but hardly any of that specific population posts on the forums and the minority of those who do post tend to get banned. I assure you that any persistent whining by noobs will result in a swift ban for them. I honestly don't understand why two communities whose interests are so similar could hold such intense hostilities. If you feel that anyone has posted something on our forums unprovoked that has caused severe offense, please inform our administrator (Simon) as it is a direct violation of rule 11: "11) Please don't continuously insult or flame Powder Game anymore. We want others to feel welcomed and comfortable instead of turning them away, and it produces drama that looks bad as a whole."
