Had to get that out of the way. In more serious news, I think you stuck this in the wrong area, so I'll move it for you. As to porn, I can't say I have an opinion there. Asexual, so... yeah, I'll stay out of this one. Dwarf Fortress is good enough for me.

Ease of communication and ease of information flow are the two big concepts that inevitably result from the existence of the Internet. Pornography is just one of the millions of types of things that can be communicated. If it can be put in a magazine, it can be put online (and some could argue that, if it is capable of being put in a magazine, it will already be online). In essence, increased distribution of pornography was inevitable with the coming of the Internet, and nothing can change that, not even in *insert country with greatest Internet censorship, which will be the US if SOPA passes, here*.
I don't know if pornographic material is more blatant than before - after all, I haven't seen any pornography - but I imagine that it is significantly more accessible. Before the Internet, you had to purchase a copy of some magazine or take and physically distribute (perhaps by mail) photographs; after the Internet, just use a search engine to find a site that has that material for free.
From my experience as a moderator and an administrator, I can certainly say that the generation of 12 to 16 year olds certainly seem to be desensitized to sexual innuendos, and sometimes straight-forward pornography. Such users certainly do not treat the topics maturely (there is a mature way to discuss those issues), in most cases, and so most of them are immature...

AHAHAHAHAH LOL NICE TOPIC jk, jk
Not really sure about this. I guess a lot of things are geared towards sexuality in the world now. Like crude, small, nearly infinitesimal clothing. I think it'll be hard to get the world to stop thinking about sexuality too much. It's sort of like some people being naughty and they make profit out of an industry geared towards it all. I guess it's out of hand. There's too much stuff flying around on the internet. Let the porn stay where it is. I don't think it's very harmful to people. Just like gaming isn't very harmful either. It's for fun. Why should we deprive peoples of their rights to entertainment?
Not saying you would deprive people, but just something I wanted to throw out there. Porn isn't a bad thing usually. Just your naughty indulgences.

In my opinion, porn is really based off of you beliefs, if you find that say, you feel ashamed or bad after watching it, it's probably considered a bad thing in your community or faith community. It's like religion (not in literal terms), while some people believe it is right, others may shun those who have the opposite viewpoint. Porn is not morally good or bad because not everyone has the same morals. You may think murdering is okay because it was accepted by your community, while I find it revolting and all-out morally corrupt because that's how my community receives it. If you don't feel like reading that, here's this, nothing is good or bad unless you're taught it's good or bad because there are no universal morals.
Edit: Now I'm not saying that your view entirely consists of the community's view, I'm simply saying it's heavily influenced by it whether you realise it or not.

I say the creation of porn is more harmful to society than porn itself, Pornographers need to keep convincing attractive woman that they need to become porn stars in order for them to keep making money.
I find porn disgusting.

With the advent of Photoshop, you don't really even need an attractive male or female: just get a half-decent person, do a few digital touch-ups, and publish. That's assuming one has to have a photorealistic image of a model, anyways. Not only that, but there are many implicit sexual innuendos that aren't considered pornographic but serve almost no other purpose than to fulfill the role of pornography. I think the TVTropes article on "fanservice" will provide details without becoming too much information...

Define "The opposite sex". There are males and females both in porn, ya know. Well, most porn anyway.

Hah, everybody knows that women aren't real creatures! They're more of a property, if you ask me.

Porn has women who consent. As far as I know they're asking for it.

You both realize that this is the Serious Debate board, not just the General board, right? The Serious Debate board is for serious debate, not sexist excuses for failed attempts at jokes...

The pornographers talk to the porn stars like they have the mental capacity of a small child. Very respectful.

How do you know whether that's true or not, might I ask?

Maybe you didn't see the porn I saw, or maybe I'm just misinterpreting what was going on.

Porn is a vast and varied field. The actors are treated much the same as actors are in general.

Pornstars agree to film porn because they have no job and have bills and debts to pay.

I wasn't being sexist. Women have consent therfore they have what's coming to them. Different opinions from different people.
Besides, the porn industry does well in financially difficult times (wonder why?)
I just have to say both of those thigns because half the people on this thread sound like TSLs.

Well, how could it be the result of social displacement and how could it be the cause of social displacement?

Porn has women who consent. As far as I know they're asking for it. this, and in my opinion porn is great. we can't always walk around asking for free sex so why not watch other people do it instead?!
