I made this for my mom when I got bored, and I somehow made 20 bucks because she loved it so much.

lol tell your mom to be less supportive XD. Before I criticize the font, what was your purpose in choosing it? This will help me criticize it better Salmon colors really not working here. The sparkle brush in the background would have looked good if it weren't for the pink. The circular effect does absolutely nothing to help the image. It's tacky, has artifacts, and just looks like it's been slapped on. The dropshadow is again too far from the background. What's worse is that you used a dropshadow on a font that has "hollow" innards. It just looks strange as switzerland. The texture on the name is very very poor. Suggestions: If you wanted to make this better, you'd start by removing things. Remove the circle pattern and the circle textures on the name. either make the background color a dark cool color to contrast with the sparkle brush, or make the sparkle brush pink and the background a darker pink. The name should have a color that really contrasts the rest of the image in a good way. For cropping, I'd decrease the height and move the name off to the right. Also, address the other things I mentioned.

I just chose the font because I like the look of it.
My mom likes the look of snake skin, so I designed a texture that kind of looked like snake skin to use on the text.
I'll remove the drop shadow, and I agree that a darker, richer color would benefit the background more. I'll try using some dark purples.
The circular effect is to add on to the supernova in the middle with some random hues coming off of it, but I guess a radial gradient would probably support the supernova better.

Pro-Tip: Stop using Supernovas.
