Most? Nah. Some people don't even keep track of their badges. Well-rounded all approved and made, I see. Off to add it to the list. Qwerty just said no...

...and what if I were to disagree with him and say that I think the badge should be implemented?
...but I won't. It would be easier to rely on the number badges for that purpose, and as we come up with more badges, we make higher number badges as appropriate...

Yeah, forgot about you... Sorry, I was pretty tired.
So, was the Traveler Badge approved?

Profiletacular: Have a Signature, a Custom Title and a piece of text under your username(I don't remember what it's called since i never changed it).
Monolinguistical: Speak over 4 Languages(If it's obvious that someone is using Google Translate(like Sparkpowder that only knows English) he will get a 20 % warning for trying to abuse the Badge system).
Love Machine: Get Exalted more often than that you exalt.
Worshiper: Exalt more than you get exalted.
Doctor: Help Members while they're in trouble(ex. When they get trolled)

Profiletactular: See Shopper.
Monolinguistical: You do know what mono-linguistic means, right? I don't think it means what you think it means. The proper name, polylinguistic, would be nearly impossible to judge, so no.
Love machine: It's impossible to reasonably find how much someone exalts. Besides, we don't want to discourage exaltation.
Worshiper: See Love Machine.
Doctor: See Help.

Wait, isn't it bilingual...No, that's only two. I completely agree with the rejects and will add them to the list tomorrow.

Quadlingual, I think.

You may know five languages, but can you find someone (preferably a staff member) who also knows those five languages? Therein lies the essential problem.

I know 2 languages.

How about an alternative to element keeper, I mean like an element follower, I mean, there are about 4 games with element keeper, thus 4 keepers, there are over 400 members, right. Well, if you think about it, the only chance is either there is a new game or someone quits, who is an element keeper, so an element follower is in the name of the badge. I know this will be rejected but that is my idea.

Post by Rock on Jun 14, 2011 19:40:18 GMT
No, there are 2 games with officially recognized keepers, each with 3-4 keepers. And if one quits, then we'll just have to replace them. You didn't even specify what the badge was...

Challenger: Succesfully challenge 3 badges.
Contest Context: Create 2 contests that are approved.

Challenger: Why? And also challenging a badge isn't that hard. It's winning.
Contest Context: Ideas Badge.

Yes yes yes. Being succesful is the hard part. That's why I said "successful".

I like the concept of the challenger badge. It encourages members to improve on old badges.

My badges from 6 months ago aren't that old...

How about a nature badge/go-green badge? A user can obtain this if they openly show how they support recycling, conserving the environment, etc.
This can be done through serious debate threads and whatnot.

Not yours, but some badges are. Let me rephrase that: "badges that aren't as good as they could be".
As to go green, it's a badge supporting a particular debate position (however good of one), so I don't think it'd be a good thing. Some people really do oppose things like that (eg, global warming is a lie, we have to pollute to survive, etc).

I agree, I am green but I don't make a fuss, unlees you are on some sort of Green computer, you are damaging the envireonment to post. That contadits the whole idea of Green, and also I am green but not massively green, like reycling before someone says that.

I like the "challenger" badge.
Also, I think there should be multiple levels of winner badges. they'd each replace each other, so they wouldn't stack up. There could be "bi-winning", "tri-winning", "win-tacular", etc.

So, you essentially want to do with the Winner Badge what we have with the Virtual Cookie Badge, except only one of the various winner badges would go toward the badge count (since successive ones would replace predecessors)?
|
|
|
Post by izacque on Jun 17, 2011 20:51:01 GMT
yes. I think it would be good to differentiate between people who won a contest once, perhaps by default or luck and people who boss those contests like... a boss.. Also, "bi-winning" is kinda funny.

Post by Rock on Jun 17, 2011 21:02:12 GMT
Then just put the second badge in your signature. Do we really need another 5 badges for the Winner Badge?

Post by QwertyuiopThePie on Jun 17, 2011 22:24:58 GMT
I do like the idea of bi-winning as a joke, but I dunno about as an actual badge.

|
|
Post by izacque on Jun 18, 2011 9:30:08 GMT
Well if the bi-winning badge replaces the winning badge in one's sig, there's not really any harm done. And it's of course optional, like all the badges.
Rock, if it's too much work, I can make them.

I don't really like it. Winner Badge is already hard enough.

Yeah, I mean, really. The Virtual Cookie Badges work because it's so easy to lose a contest, but I've only won one contest in the 10 months I've been here.

I would like to propose that we return the "Member of the Month" Badge to its original design: It was never meant to be made into a circle, but rather a plaque. Much like how a worker receives Employee of the Month. Furthermore, in my opinion, the badge being rounded looks terrible.

I like the square, too, but Qwerty requested it. You'll have to ask him.
