Wait, is the challenger badge approved? Several people do seem to like it.

It sorta works as a square, but it fits better as a circle. We can just give members a choice.

There's a thread in the staff lounge re-restarting it, but no one has seemed to post in it, except me.

Yeah, I mean, really. The Virtual Cookie Badges work because it's so easy to lose a contest, but I've only won one contest in the 10 months I've been here. I only managed to get second in a Contest where only i and Micro Farad joined in. I suck so hard.

Hmm? I don't see an image or anything. Not even in the quoting button reply.

Oh. there's something i'd want to point out: Making Gamer Badge only possible for RPG's is just too extreme. Nobody plays RPG's anymore. I think that Gamer Badge should also apply for Games that do take some logical thinking, but aren't too hard either, like Hospital and Warped Wishing. And i think the amount of Pages needed for an RPG Forum Game sholud only be 10 or so while Games like Hospital still need 20. And maybe, for the people that made a very popular game but it is very simple it could take 30 or 40.
Now none of your Mods go say that it is possible to get Gamer Badge currently. Global Invasion is only so popular cause it exists for 2 years or so and Qwerty keeps bumping it. Well, actually Global Invasion isn't that popular cause it are the same people that play it. And the rest of the persons that have Gamer Badge had a RPG at the old Forum which was more active and people had more attention for RPG's.
This is just my opinion, sorry if anyone got offended by this.

Although, strictly speaking, Hospital and Warped Wishing do require intentional thought, I would not say that they required logical thinking. Modifying the number of pages for various game types certainly isn't a bad idea, though, considering the extreme difficulty of RPGs reaching 20 pages...

how about an, "I Donated" badge, you get it when you donate 1000 db to a charity?

Sorta beats the purpose of a charity. Charity is giving without receiving.

How about a charity badge, for giving to people who give to many charity many danballs, it would certenly give moe to the charities. I mean, sometimes you get stuff like an gold blue peter badge for exeptional a cheivment, so why not a badge for charity, and let me geuus, I shouldn't have mentioned blue peter, should I?

Wait, wasn't the system decided upon one where page count doesn't matter and it's more just judged by the admins to see whether or not you get the badge?
I was under impression that was how the system currently was.

how about a 7-11 badge for posting at exactly 7:11 a.m.?
|
|
|
Post by Qwerty on Aug 3, 2011 18:14:45 GMT
Probably a reference to 7-11, a popular convenience store chain over here, but I really don't see the significance regardless. Plus, far too easy.

ok didn't care to login but how bout the 7-11 badge to be for posting at 7:11 a.m. on july 11 (7/11) ? makes it harder to get and only possible once a year.

Post by Fringe Pioneer on Aug 8, 2011 5:45:31 GMT
You shouldn't be capable of logging in: you and airship both have your accounts disabled. You will wait until the time is up on August 10 at 19:59 Forum Standard Time before posting further. As for your badge idea, we already have the Early Bird and Late Owl badges that can be earned by merely posting at a given time. I don't think we need any more such badges...

I think it might be almost like DDOSing if it's only one a year. If people wanted the badge there would be people swarming the forum on one day and a dozen people posting within seconds of each other... I don't think it works that way.
And the challenger badge has still not received much attention.

well it'll do 2 things: give people a badge who care about 7-11 and possibly break the record for most users on at 1 time
|
|
|
Post by Qwerty on Aug 11, 2011 0:45:42 GMT
There aren't really people that care about 7-11, and we already have a record breaker badge.
|
|
|
Post by Sporce on Aug 11, 2011 3:25:04 GMT
no, not like dat, people will go on on that day to post on the time and it'll break the record if a lot of people go on for it.

|
|
Post by Qwerty on Aug 11, 2011 20:43:08 GMT
We already try that. Dedicated posting days and all that. Besides, timezones. There is no set global 7-11.
