This is kind of a work in progress. I made an eye, and I'm going to replicate it using pixel art. I have a feeling it'll take a while, but it'll be worth it.

Kul.
What are you going to do with the pixel art? Are you making it on PG and uploading it or something?

No, it'll probably be part of a shop ad. There's gonna be that then some kind of cool text that says "Want graphics? Come down to my shoppe. I'll be watching and waiting..."

Can I say that the pixel art version should have more shine? I mean, there's a reason why we call it jelly...

Since when do we call anything jelly? And I'm working on the shine thing. The adjustment of a few contrast and brightness bars should fix it just fine.

Oh, lol. I'm making a lot of progress. I still have a lot to go on the anti-aliasing on the blood vessels in the eyes, then I have to figure out how I'm going to give it the blue rounding effect. After the details are done, I'll put the shaded eye on burn mode or something of the sort to give it a rounding effect that's not too weak or strong. EDIT: More progress. I'm really happy about how this eye shaped up.

The left one contrasts, but I'm sure you'll fix that soon... Otherwise, they look unrealistic because the vessels should branch out from the edges of the eyeball, and you didn't branch at all. Other than those trivialities, they look good, and the effects really fit.

See, but the left one, if I replicated it exactly, would be pillow-shaded. It's something widely frowned upon in pixel art. But I needed to also give it the fade to blue on the edges. The fix, make the light come from the top right and make the eyeball itself a little bit blue so the emphasis on the fade doesn't have to be as big. And as for the vessels, well, you can't automatically assume it's supposed to be a human eyeball Even though Darth Vader is human, I still thought it was appropriate

The fuck? Do you call THIS pixel art? I've tolerated your other shit but THIS!? Seriously, stop filling this board with your 10 minute sketches that you call "art". This isn't pixel art. Stick to powder game uploads. I don't care if this demotivates you or anything, it's just that you DON'T get better, just worse. Stop, please, I don't want to lose this board...

The pixel circle is aliased as shit, I hope you're gonna fix that. The original iris is darker red near the pupil, giving it more depth. Emulate that. The veins are more transparent in the original, and there's a slight yellowing of tone near the blue border. So far it's coming around well, but try to get that depth back that you've lost from the lack of gradients.

Yeah, I was going to just completely redo the veins when I got time to do it. I just don't like how they came together, and they're way too dark compared to the original. I also lost a lot of the aliasing when I put the dithered layer on some lay mode that I can't remember at the moment. Most likely burn, but I don't know for sure. I'm still working that out. And as for the depth, I just need to adjust the contrast on the dithered layer.

It looks alright, I think you'd probably be better of just remaking it, especially since the original isn't that good, either. I don't see why you're using so much dither, when none of it is actually showing shading/highlighting. It's just making things look messy, like the pumpkin in your avatar. It's not too bad, but I recommend that you just do it from your imagination, instead of like this.

I'm doing it this way because I want both eyes in the image like they are for the final product. I,ll just redo a couple of things, not every single thing needs redoing.
