I'm not sure about this, but it looks like you just used one of those tutorials, then added an "L" inside of it. I think you should try something else, don't follow tutorials for everything - try something out of your own mind.

the L looks kinda, uh, sideways? Like it doesn't really look like a normal L.

This looks like a combination of two tutorials that shouldn't have been combined. The button itself is cute, but bland. More dramatic lighting would help. The button also doesn't look 3D-ish. It looks like cute gradient effects, but no real pop. Bad tutorial to follow. I don't like the isometric perspective on the L. It also looks liek the L is jsut sitting there. It's not part o the button or anything. The styles clash pretty badly. Also, the font for the L is too angular in places and the base of the L is too short.
