I planned on quitting, but the edge of the forum called to me  I will quit eventually. Like we all do. Unless something big happens, staff etc. |

People never really 'quit'. Those that do return within days or maybe a couple weeks at most.
The only people that ever really leave do so slowly, very slowly.

I disagree. I know a lot of members that quit. not altogether at once. But, rather close.

Sure, but they almost always came back. Only a few 'quit' and stayed off, and that was generally due to personal reasons, not the forums. Even they still returned for the occasional visit if possible.

Every forum I have ever been on, besides Egosoft sez that. Many leave due to disliking forum changes. Or, in protest. Or, since they dislike certain members. Even because the forum is taking too much of their time... But, EVERYONE says that noone leaves.* -_- *Not this forum. |

I've seen those three, but in the first three they almost always come back. Almost always. SpiritBot really disliked members, but he returned thrice. Everyone here knows leaving in protest accomplishes nothing, and I don't know of any cases of people disliking forum changes.
People do leave, though. Just not for any instantaneous purposes except in a few exceptional exceptions. If you've been here long enough to know all the coming and going waves of members, starting back at the original wave, you know exactly how it goes.
I've frequently seen "I'm leaving due to ___" threads, at least once a month generally. However, they almost always return, ESPECIALLY if they delete their account. Those that do leave don't complain about it in chat and don't make a thread or delete their account; they drift off and become less active and leave.
