There's a game called a DUEL. a picture based game with actions takeing turns to make armies of things. This sounds like Stick Wars the way I describe it, but it's not. Here's an example. www.mspaforums.com/showthread.php?31177-DUEL-Shadowland&highlight=Shadowland One person gets to join. I'll start the map.
A cannon-obsessed man sits by his pile of cannon parts. He has been waiting for a while for someone to come, so he can shoot them with his wonderful cannon babies. He has to sadly take them apart though so they don't rust or stuff. He doesn't really have to worry about materials though- the pile is much, much larger than it looks. He just needs to wait so he can use his lovelies.

Poison glove, slowly robbing you of your health in a hail of poisonous punches.
An amorphous yellow blob floats into view. The amorphous blob claims that it is the keeper of this grassland. It is surprised at seeing the litter on the ground.
Some weird blob comes up and says it's the keeper of the grassland and if it's possible, looks kinda surprised.THe cannon-obsessed man is a bit confused by this. What i this thing? Wait, it doesn't matter, 'cuz he can probably shoot it with his caaaaannnoooooons! He gleefully rushes over to his pile of parts and starts building something. It'll take him a turn to finish.

The cannon man finishes the thing he was working with a grin on his face! It was a small cannon- it lacked in firepower, range and accuracy, but it was quick to make, slightly mobile, and it was still a cannnooooon!

That which was hidden in the vortex solidifies. It is...
A Small Amorphous Vortex Grunt.
It is nimble; it can cross the battle field in two turns. It is unstable; it can be destroyed in a few hits. It is weak; it does little firepower. It is melee; it attacks by ramming into things.
The SAVG orients itself and begins flying towards the cannons. It will take two turns to do so; next turn, it will be halfway there, and the turn after that, it will be at the opposing side.
The Amorphous Blob begins chanting. A second swirl, begins to appear. In three turns, it will fully manifest, and appear in this world.
((Actual numbers in HP would make things inflexible. Use imagination for that. Otherwise though, numbers are fine. The small cannon takes 5 turns to get across field and it has to be pushed by the cannon man. He also has to stop working on things to fire it, and he has to load it. It's tough, being a cannon, and about medium strength because although it's weak for a cannon it's still a cannon. It can only fire at things relatively close to it. Also, I gave us a bit more room to draw things although it doesn't affect the game.))
The cannon-obsessed man looks at the flying thing with fear evident on his face. He did not like flying things, nonono his cannons could not shoot them well and he did not like flying things at all! What would he do oh god what would he do?!? Wait, of course! He leaped to the pile of parts took some parts, and began working on something as fast as he could! It would be done in two turns' time.

Only two people are allowed to duel at a time, otherwise it wouldn't be a duel. You are not allowed to interfere with the ongoing duel, nor is anyone else...
Of course, you are free to start a separate thread and begin a challenge and see if anyone chooses to attack...
But yeah, don't interfere with a duel in progress. I am fine with non-combatants giving suggestions or comments on the duel while it is in progress, although you would have to ask ObG first.
Suggestions or comments are welcome. You just don't get to order people around.
The cannon man was panicking now. Oh god the flying thing was coming at him really fast and he wasn't finished yet ohcrapohcrap and he was like a blur panicking and working more on his cannon almost there... ALMOST THEEERREEE!

Poison glove, slowly robbing you of your health in a hail of poisonous punches.
((You really just need to use imagination, like you say it's sure to hit or it's about to hit or something and in this case I'm just have it be damaged when it's complete.))

The small amorphous vortex grunt rams the intruder (not what the intruder is building), in an attempt to distract the intruder from finishing the project.
The amorphous blob continues to chant in a language no human understands. The object has mostly exited the vortex. In one turn, it will be complete.
...That hurt. THAT HURT. THAT HURT!!!! Now with a headache, the cannon man put the finishing touches on his anti-aircraft cannon and screaming in rage, fired two anti-aircraft cannon shards straight into the vortex. Straight. Into. It. "DIE, DIE, DIE, DIE!" The Anti-Air cannon could only fire at fliers, could only fire at things within the cannon man's half of the area, and was stationary, and fired relatively low power shots for a cannon (again medium strength), but fired two shots, and because of the sharpness of the projectiles did better against soft or fragile things.
((In the future can you refrain from making one-turns move that fast? It's a little bit overpowered., especially on a flier.))

((It's supposed to be extremely weak and have extremely low HP. In the future, however, I'll have them have enough speed to cross in three turns. Is that okay?))
((Also, could you not resize the image? It causes various pixel arty things to become blurry))
The Small Amorphous Vortex Grunt found it rather difficult to deal with the strain of two anti-aircraft missiles, and went poof. The resulting wisps of orange dust are completely safe and should disappear into the atmosphere quickly.
The Amorphous Blob looked back at it's creation -- well, okay, it really just bought the blueprints on sale a few weeks ago-- with pride.
The NexusTM Mk. I.
Powered by three, yes three, Rubien crystals, it is able to summon any mobile unit* at a nice speed**, considering it only takes two turns to summon all three Rubien crystals, and one for the Nexus Core (Mk. I) itself. Summon your very own Nexus from your local Ether Marketing System, today!
Each Rubien crystal can hold*** enough energy for six turns of summons-- one fully charged Rubien crystal has enough energy to create six Small Amorphous Vortex Grunts.
* After a nearby Amorphous Blob (read: on this battlefield) has summoned it at least once. That is, if it is in the second spoiler, it can make it. ** That is, one third the speed the Amorphous Blob would take. For instance, it would take three turns to create a Small Amorphous Vortex Grunt. *** They start out with four. Rubien crystals hold a moderate amount of energy, and thus, when destroyed (they are weak for a crystal, but are quite strong anyways.) will slightly explode. A Nexus Core absorbs health from the crystals to heal itself, although if attacked by something very strong, it may poof before it has the time to absorb health. Without a Core, the crystals will no longer be suspended, and crash onto the ground. The Amorphous Blob then sank towards the ground, eyeing the Anti-air cannon with distaste.
((I'm not resizing them or if I am I don't know it- it makes things annoying for me too.))
The cannon man looked with annoyance at the thing the blob had made and decided he needed to work. He immediately started building something attached to the anti-air cannon.

Looking at Tinypic, it seems the only options for sizes are Default, 100 x 75, 160 x 120, 320 x 240, 640 x 480, 800 x 600, and 1024 x 768. If "Default" is what I think it is, it will automatically resize to whatever size it sees fit. In short, Tinypic will resize the image if it isn't already one of the listed sizes...
The Nexus Mk. I had finished examining everything, and began making something. You probably don't know what it is, because the Nexus Mk. I can only produce what the Amorphous Blob has produced (that is a unit), and that list is horribly small. It gets even smaller once you realize that the Amorphous Blob would create it in one turn. (That would mean that the Nexus Mk. I would take three turns, but you probably already knew that.)
The Amorphous Blob, on the other hand, had finished reaching it's destination: the ground. It began making something green and vague. (Hang on, would I get sued by Terraria from this? Or Ha55ii? Probably neither, thinking about it.)
1 Nexus Mk. I (12/18 charged): Assembling something so mysteriously vague, you probably don't know that its initials are SAVG. (1/(3=1x3) complete) 1 Amorphous Blob: Assembling something actually vague.
Having finished the auto-firer on his anti-air cannon (which would let his lovely fire itself), the cannon man immediately set to work on another upgrade. He wanted to get air taken (relatively) care of immediately, so he could deal with strange ground things like what the blob was making.

The Nexus Mk. I continues manufacturing the Small Amorphous Vortex Grunt. It had finished the Small Amorphous Vortex Grunt's core, and was working on the actual vortexy part of it. The Amorphous Blob saw a new module being added to the cannon, and began filling his unknown object with an odd green paste. ((EDIT: Ah, frick, I forgot to add one more thing in the picture. Please don't copy the picture right now, I'm modifying it.)) ((EDITx2: Fixed. I forgot to make the crystal glow more.))
