People don't get a passion in a communism. They don't have free enterprise. Did I ever say they did? Anyway, I don't think free enterprise per se is required for passion in work, but there needs to be more freedom in career choice than in communism. You implied it, without free enterprise having passion in a career becomes even MORE difficult. So, without free enterprise, the majority of people won't work for passion. They'll work for money.

I believe that a fair mix of balanced and well-organized technocracy added to a reasonable sum of democracy would result in a manner of well-controlled government. My vote goes to either.

Should I shift this to debate?

No, it's a general topic. I even told ganon this after he called me an idiot. I think sometimes people just get too heated. If anything, this should be a light debate at most.

Yes, and that is what serious debate is for. You know, serious debate. Light or otherwise. Obviously a discussion about types of government will lead to people posing arguments for either side, which is either a flamewar or a debate.

That's one type of government. This poll has six. It would be pointless to make six separate threads to basically compare/contrast each other.

Monkeys on unicycles should be in charge of the government. Anything that inhibits complexity should be declared evil. (murder is fine, if it's of a person who was stealing billions of dollars via deceptive marketing, drug trading and other greed related motivations and depriving science and/or the increasing of complexity from humanity)
Also, similarly to Pie, I too worship breadsticks and would totally follow others who do so as well.

I'm not a big fan of Winston Churchill, but he hit a bullseye when he said, "Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all those others that have been tried."
I used to be a die-hard advocate of democracy, but over the past couple of years as I've matured, I've realized that democracy, in absolute terms, actually fails pretty hard. The masses are stupid, and they more often than not vote for people who are less than ideal. Most people are very easily manipulated by primitive propaganda and lack either the ability or will to inform themselves objectively about important issues. Voting is swayed by psychological issues, ignorance, and stupid superficial things like "electability" that the idiot pundits have fabricated.
As such, in a perfect world, I would advocate meritocratic elitism. But obviously, you run into the pesky real-world problems of how exactly to choose leaders, who does the choosing, etc.
With that said, out of any government system that has been implemented, democracy is what I would call the least of the evils.

Pretty much my thoughts only you explained it better. The problem with other forms of government where a really small group only has got influence is that dictators are mostly bad people.
