The updates have taken effect: you now have a cleaner interface with a choice of skin colors, and labeled image buttons.
What do you think?

Well, you can change the colors, but the layout itself is pretty set...

I also prefer the old version, this is too plain, and also the colors are hurting my eyes. Oh, and it's pretty annoying how the logo links you to the Dan-Ball website, that needs to be removed. This is close to a step backwards in my opinion.
EDIT: There is no skin for the smileys, the icons in for the post enhancements, poll, and "New" symbols.

This is close to a step backwards in my opinion. EDIT: There is no skin for the smileys, the icons in for the post enhancements, poll, and "New" symbols. Anything else, your majesty? Anyway, let me clear up all of your complaints. The main purpose of this skin is to allow the users to select their own style. If you will go to your profile, you will notice there is a new 'skin select' option that allows you to customize the colors. Dan-ball is our mother site, and you need to remember that. If ha55ii so chooses to, he can have our site shut down on copyright laws. It is us doing our service to remind our members that we are merely the derivative of a larger site. As to the preference of the old version, you have been outvoted; The majority of members agreed that it was an eyesore. EDIT: Also, I would like to point out how rude you were after all the hard work GGoodie put into this skin these past few weeks.

Rock you seemed to be pretty onboard until.... *checks watch* right now.
As for the smileys and other icons, those are still being made. I just didn't want to have this get put off so much that it never happened.

I actually think this is pretty cool. You can change the colors to make it more homely or save more energy. But now I'll have to change the Dan-Ball Forum section of my in-the-making sig. D:

Mono, who said it was an eyesore. Because the colors , without the depth form the old skin, are truly giving me a headache. I'm trying to be rude, I'm just saying that I think the old skin was wonderful and should at least be an option like the other color schemes. I was never on board and stated multiple times that I disliked the new skin and preferred the old one, which should be no more than an opinion seeing as GGoodie made both.
Oh, and to your comment about the logo link, why can't the link just be in a separate box like in the old skin. Just about every site now uses its logo as a method of returning to the homepage, and it's pretty annoying when you click it by accident, especially with my crappy g wifi.

It is an option. It's called "Classic". At any rate, a lot of people need to change their stars to accomodate the new color. Qwerty's, for instance. *shudder* It looks horrible on Platinum Tears...

I'm using Classic. Minimalistic is nice, but too much is too much. I mean,at least do something to the logo. I will admit that it does cause the forum to load a lot faster, which is nice, and so are the labels.

It could be better. I personally don't like the idea of making it more table like. Yes, ProBoards IS made of tables, however this is just asking for the table layout. To be honest, the old one was better because the look showed EFFORT. This looks like something made in ten minutes. I speak from experience: archive.robertcity.com

The website I linked shows that I made the same type of designs back when I was 13.

it's just way too bright.
just darken things a bit(especially those sides) and it would be okay.

In my opinion, the colors of the layout are fine, my eyes aren't burning into my lap... It's simply some of our custom name colors... I see that my custom name colors from when we were using the other layout do not look good on Solemn Sky, which I am using... My name on the miniprofile appears too small, and with my current color setting, it doesn't look like it fits. Also, adding to my opinion of the colors, I did see some more style in the gradients on the edges of the main display, and those inside. Anything else I would like to discuss out of confusion, question, disliking, or opinion has yet to be seen. Otherwise, there is nothing more.
Note: I find it a tad ludicrous that I'm "complaining" about the skin whose colors that I created...

Rock's ideas are worth something: The smileys and "new" symbol could do with a change.

When you say symbol I hope you mean logo...
Oh, and can the text boxes be like they were before? Because the white sort of looks out of place.

The smileys are being made, the UBBC will be made, and the text boxes will be changed. I have said all of these at some point or another.

Have you tried changing the skin to something with lower contrast such as Cobalt? I can see that you are using the Classic color scheme, which means your eyes would hurt just as much on the previous skin.

No, but it is the grey around it, back to normal would brown would be good.

No, but it is the grey around it, back to normal would brown would be good. Medium greys don't hurt your eyes. High contrast and bright things hurt your eyes.

Love the new themes, but the extremely wide chat should be shrinked a little bit, don't you think?
nice smileys btw

Love the new themes, but the extremely wide chat should be shrinked a little bit, don't you think? Well it just mirrors the width of the forum so that they match, and it wouldn't work very well any other way. I guess you could always use the full chat if it bothers you
