Monokr0me wins. Mdog's entry was very nice, yes, but lacked the redstone complexity I was looking for, plus the controls were a bit awkward in use and positioning. Also, the teams were nonadjustable: There was no way to refill the soldiers, modify their supplies, or... well, even enter the arena reliably.
Monokr0me's entry had only basic aesthetics versus Mdog's aesthetics, but ultimately it had a useful purpose and was far more complex. He is the winner for this one.
