Alright, here's the deal, with the recent split between DBF and QCode, DBF is dying rapidly, so much so, that I'm actually very concerned. Many people seen fine with this, but I can't stand it.
When I joined, 2 years ago, I had found the site by googling Dan Ball. I clicked it and was brought to the lovely v2 skin and I immediately scrolled down to the bottom of the page and was presented with a nice chat. I signed up, and was welcomed to the forum by a certain member named Elmach (at the time). He and a few others convinced me to create a forum account, and I grew to love the forum and it's member so much so, that I actually cried when I was banned (early 2011). After I was relieved of my permanent ban, I made it a goal of mine to be a respected, contributing member of the forum.
And so we are here now, with a severe lack of activity and new members, we need to recruit members, and we need to contain something of value (not saying the forum is worthless) that will continue to bring those new members back.
Whether it be Dan-Ball or not, we need something worth their time.
So, at this point, it's up to the members here currently to decide whether this forum lives or dies, for it to live, we need to give the forum all the activity we can give it, and invite everyone we can. Otherwise, it will soon die.
I personally, refuse to let this forum that I love, die.

I think that one reason why these forums are getting less active is that people have better things to do during the Summer season. QuartzCode and this forum are both pretty empty in the chat areas, where most people normally are. I think it is really fine, maybe if things want to be sorted out a little bit differently. I think that one problem with this forum is too much roleplaying stuff, that is just weird and really not contributing anything. Another thing is all of this special stuff about holding elements from Powder Game, they're just elements on a video game, not real chemicals that one can hold in glass or plastic. Things will probably get more interesting soon, there is still some stuff going on.

Otherwise, it will soon die. I personally, refuse to let this forum that I love, die. Then pull a TSL and bring back the "Golden Ages" Oh wait, that never actually happened. There's no point in trying to revive what is already dead. It's not so much the DBF's fault as it is the fault of ha55ii and the Dan-Ball website itself. The lack of decent updates (and genuinely a lack of communication) are what has caused the community to die. We tried to circumvent the inevitable by changing our focus onto something more generalized, yet we were unable to cope with the problem that came with doing so. Two sides emerged as a result: The side that demanded order and the side which could care less about an established ruleset. The rest of them were either unable to cope with change and attempted to retain the ideal of a community centralized around Dan-Ball, or degenerated into what many would call annoyances or trolls. Old friends began to fight, and as a result many respected and active members left because they were honestly just tired of each other. That is not to say the DBF is not at fault as well. Our attempt to change could almost be called a flounder. We tried to become more generalized, yet only ended up making yet even more boards and forum guides to the already numerous. We tried to adjust what many had thought of as unjust rules (although of which managed to keep the community in order for quite some time). We even decided to remove the Dan-Ball logo, and yet still it lies here today, a marking of what we failed as a community to accomplish. We did all these things to get away from what was holding us back, yet our history and beginning could not be changed. Suffice to say, what is dead is dead, and will probably remain dead. All that remains are those who are incapable of realizing the present, and the neckbeards that have infested what was once a thriving community.

You don't seem to know what dead is. The forum is basically dead now, yeah, but it wasn't for quite a long time. We just moved to Qcode. No need to make textwalls about that, it's just a move after all.
Besides, before we can remove the logo, we need a replacement. I dunno about you, but I don't see any graphic artists around.

The reason that I say it's dead is because the hierarchy of QCode I strongly disagree with (not personally I mean structurally), so I don't want to leave DBF.

Oh, did we move to qcode, well that explains a lot. So during my inactivibes this happened. K.

We didn't officially move to qcode or anything, it's just... yeah.
Anyway, there's no hierarchy to speak of. The administration system is extremely simple: What Mono says, goes. It's had mixed results, but when most of the community moves there's not really any choice for the rest anyway, hierarchy or no. Plus if he turns out to be another Listo there's always the option to move back.

Hmmm, I think I will stay here rather than move to qcode as I don't see what there is that sets it apart from here.

AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAstop crying over this shithole and go do something worthwhile out of your life, 1998 boy. i have been here for four whole years, and i personally like what we have now over the bullshit retardation we had back in qwerty's "golden days", the only thing that makes this forum right now bad as it is are idiots who try to fit in and be funny and can't realize nobody wants them here. edit : those idiots are also making qcode a worse place , if you (plural) are not dumb enough to realize who you are , please fuck off .

NM's an asshole, don't worry about it, the only reason he's kept around anymore is for entertainment when he gets banned, also, ironically, after telling me I'm not wanted, he's currently banned on QCode.

Mono is by no means required to do anything for me. Likewise, I am not required to make any special exemptions for you. You just don't like the fact that Mono refuses to give you special treatment on Qcode, even reposting things that have already gotten you banned expecting to somehow have a different result.
But now that you're banned there, you are spending your free time trying to troll people here. Frankly I've had it. Enjoy your ban. You don't care about this place anyway, so it shouldn't have relevance to you. I won't IP ban you for now so you can still see the forum, but should you dodge your ban in any way I will.
