Basically, my laptop is narcoleptic now, making it practically unusable. Within a few minutes, it becomes completely unusable then shuts down, only to start itself up occasionally for several seconds before automatically shutting down. Again. Basically a heat problem, and I can tell it's the fan because the fan isn't running. I was lucky enough to get it running for this. I'm getting a new fan soon, I hope.
I do have the desktop, yes, but it is currently in a position where I can't do a lot on it, especially related to the forum. I will be ordering a wireless adapter so I can move it back to my room and use it as my main computer, and that should be here soon. Til the fan is repaired and/or the adapter arrives, my personal activity will drop very low indeed. If you must contact me, use email. I'll try to come when I can.

Bummer. Maybe you can use a fan under it, if you do not have the possibilities to repair it. I did this one time and it was working pretty well.

Yeah, maybe I can do that. An external fan should be good. I got a heat monitoring software thing for it, and it seems to only have issues if it goes over 45 Celsius, and it does take awhile to reach that level. I think an external fan should do nicely.
