I have managed to copy the post with the pictures. There it is: In this thread I'd like to write about laser based technology. I'll start with some basics: How to get a single laser impulse on load (for your game upload): With metal we are able to reflect laser beams. Those are smallest and most basic metal elements: The L-block Smallest and THE MOST important: Thia small 2 metal block can be used as diode (reflect beam in one direction and let pass in other direction). Here we got 2 L-block OR gate: Here some info about laser speed: Here we have some info about laser wires/tube or what you like it to name (i don't use English every day ;p): There are 2 ways to stop laser beam with other beam. XOR gate A|B|out --------- 1|1|0 1|0|1 0|1|1 0|0|0 With negation tube and 1 OR gate. Here we got theoretical AND gate (in reality the tube for beam negation should be longer). Another bad side is needing extra constant 1 input. A|B|out --------- 1|1|0 1|0|0 0|1|0 0|0|1 Here we got theoretical NOR gate (in reality the tube for beam negation should be longer). Another bad side is needing extra constant 1 input. Here we got my metal only, ReadOnlyMemory (single write*) memory block: Rewritable memory by Artanis. PS. I sometimes use combined top and bottom right L block (from Magnums pic) for input into a loop (diagonal in loop and straight as input, but it depend on circumstances).
Thanks to QwertyuiopThePie html copy we could make thread with codes with all old gates and devices from thread (searching anything there was such pain because of those pages).
bluerook great memory (device) you have there. Using 2 lasers in loop nicely make it more reliable and reset work quite good with only single beam.

Mercury makes interesting things, like splitters, and clocks, etc. Does anyone have a mercury guide? I also think we need a list of objects(splitters, clocks, etc.) made.

darkchaos why I didn't never notice this one, I had probably many times problem with this configuration and never noticed that it work different for vertical and horizontal beams XD
Edit: Ohh not horizontal and vertical but counter-clockwise... That can tell something about the algorithm of beam reflection...

That's nice, but it needs to be improved, as in, it doesn't let out a constant frequency. I still can't find uses for the one way thingy.

Perhaps you have all forgotten my advocacy, but I would like to remind you of my point of view. I have always seen these random little oscillators and the like as interesting devices. However, I believe our main focus should be working with tubes. Any PG laser tech invention that uses any sort of logic will use tubes. This thread is constantly stuck on these little discoveries. I find the phenomenon similar to the age of vacuum tubes. Only one or two unconventional devices were useful (Williams tube). The other side projects were practically useless (selectron tube). And what were Colossus and ENIAC made of? Regular old vacuum tubes. We are frozen on these little projects, while the real value of PG tech consists mostly of combining the already well understood tubes. There are some little exceptions, such as memory devices, but other than that, our main focus needs to be on assembling existing PG tech. All this dithering is giving us a bad face. We need to actually build something. I'm going to attempt making a little state machine right now, and I, for one, would like to see similar projects spring up.
Now, excuse my rant, but this is why the PG tech threads have slowed down...

MF, I've said this before, and I'll say it again. Sequenced, timed, and completely reliable clocks eliminate the need for tubes. All cancellations can be done on one bounce point. even mid-air collisions can be reliable.

It isn't a NOT gate, it doesn't constantly outputs 1 when input is 0.

Very interesting OR gate and memory. However, I find that mixing thunder and laser electronics leads to frustration (thunder can cross thunder wires, laser can cross laser paths, but they cannot cross eachother). The OR gate is VERY useful though, thanks.

I mean a laser memory with a NOT gate after it. Write = 1 and Notwrite = 0, which is the opposite of laser memory.
