Long ago, in a parallel universe practically touching our own, mankind was contacted by sentient aliens who drastically changed the course of human history. By the time we call 11,000 BC, people were already spread out among the stars, having colonized hundreds of planets. Some settlements were completely artificial. Whole societies thrived off of giant life support infrastructures. Of course, after living like that for ten thousand years or so, a majority of societies decided that terraforming was a better option. Governments bought uninhabitable planets and converted them into hospitable worlds. These terraformed planets were then colonized by the citizens under that government or sold at a profit to pay down debts. This story chronicles the adventures of a modern day band of parallel universe terraformers. These freelancers are paid by various governments to terraform worlds with your parallel universe taxpayer money.
