If you do something to one thread or one forum index, I can replicate it along all the rest - at least I hope so.

hmmm okay.... Well here's something I'd like replicated on all of the threads and all: <link rel="icon" href="http://i45.tinypic.com/f3wcuf.png"> In the header of course. I'd also like you to update the main page with this: <html><head> <style type="text/css"> #image { background: url(http://i47.tinypic.com/166ws5s.png) repeat-y; } #image1 { background: url(http://i48.tinypic.com/2anac1.png) repeat-x; } </style> <link rel="icon" href="http://i45.tinypic.com/f3wcuf.png"> </head><body bgcolor="#5f2c12"> <div id="image1"> <img src="http://disabled.t28.net/forum/header.png" /> <div id="image"> <br><br><img src="http://i49.tinypic.com/2a8g9is.png" /><br> <a href="help">Welcome: Please Read</a><br> <a href="helpprovided">Help</a><br> <a href="site">About the Site</a><br> <a href="announcevital">Important Anouncments</a><br> <a href="announcesite">Forum Updates</a><br> <a href="announcesecurity">Security Information</a><br> <a href="announcefun">Fun Announcments</a><br> <br><img src="http://i50.tinypic.com/qrx17p.png" /><br> <a href="powder">Powder Game</a><br> <a href="pgideas">Powder Game Accepted Elements</a><br> <a href="pghelp">Powder Game Help</a><br> <a href="pgtech">Powder Game Technology</a><br> <a href="stickranger">Stick Ranger</a><br> <a href="update">Stick Ranger Updates</a><br> <a href="srhelp">Stick Ranger Help</a><br> <a href="idea">Stick Ranger Ideas</a><br> <a href="other">Other Games</a><br> <a href="game">Earth Editor</a><br> <a href="stick">Irritation Stickman</a><br> <a href="raytracer">Ray Trace Fighter</a><br> <a href="liquid">Liquid Webtoy</a><br> <a href="panda">Micro Panda</a><br> <a href="sandmoji">Sand Moji</a><br> <a href="ham">Ham Race</a><br> <a href="minetower">Minetower</a><br> <a href="catshot">Catshot (Mobile)</a><br> <a href="rocats">Rocats (Mobile)</a><br> <a href="planetsimmobile">Planet Simulation (Mobile)</a><br> <a href="valistroke">Valistoke (Mobile)</a><br> <br><img src="http://i45.tinypic.com/9itwkx.png" /><br>  <a href="gentalk">General Talk</a><br> <a href="genchat">General Chat</a><br> <a href="upload">Uploads</a><br> <a href="tech">Technology</a><br> <a href="debate">Debate Board</a><br> <a href="stories">Stories</a><br> <a href="art">Art Board</a><br> <a href="gam">Forum Games</a><br> <a href="spam">Spam Board</a><br> <a href="publicarchives">Public Archives</a><br> <br><img src="http://i48.tinypic.com/bebqfa.png" /><br> <a href="shop">Dan-Ball Shop</a><br> <a href="badges">Badges</a><br> <a href="respect">Respect Badge Requests</a><br> <a href="requests">Official Graphic Artist Shop</a><br> <br><img src="http://i50.tinypic.com/k3u54h.png" /><br> <a href="memgames">Game Internals</a><br> <a href="memgen">Member's Lounge</a><br> <br> <br> </div></div> Just made a mistake that I just found, and I added a few small minor changes to help.
EDIT: One more thing, (on the top of these pages) Edit this page: disabled.t28.net/forum/pgideas/To say: "Powder Game Accepted Elements" (instead of pgideas) Edit this page: disabled.t28.net/forum/update/To say: "Stick Ranger Updates" (instead of update)

With great help from memzak for all the design, I redid a lot of the forum backup html. Now everything is beauty and nice like it should. I also made an attempt to split too big threads into multiple ones - my hoster has a file size limit of 500kb. Most of the threads were in the spam board and I even had to cut some posts there, because some posts alone were bigger then 400k (nice job guys...) but its only crap I cut. Besides the spam board, there were such important threads as Is There A God?, Logic gates and other Electronic devices and Nonjas: Global Invasion - those were the only 3 threads worth mentioning that were bigger then 500kb and had to be split. So you get better navigation, a beautified board and more threads. And as always: If you have any suggestions, just ask. *edit* The url stayed the same: disabled.t28.net/forum/

*applauds the release date*
Finally, it's been like a full week since we first started editing it...
If you have ANY criticism to say about it, say it! We are both open for ideas to make the backup even better!

Hurrah! Now it is not only backed up and functional, it also looks nice!

Yep. We are working to improve it even more... (but we are a bit short on ideas)

I'm not working on improving it. IMO its quite usable and finished. Thou if anyone has an idea, I'd still consider implementing it.

oh, ok. In that case.
If anyone has a good idea then we can possibly add it.

A search function? Nah, google custom search works fine for that.

It does? Something like "test site:disabled.t28.net" doesn't give any result for me. How are you doing it? I also won't include a search function, because I'd need to do database programming for that. While I could use DBs from my host, I have absolutely zero experience with that. (If anyone wants to code (PHP) the database backend though...)

Custom search is a custom-made normal search that only works on that one site. We used to have one for the forums.

yep. Can't you get one from google?

Unfortunately the custom search engine only works, if the pages are already in the index. The forum is not yet indexed by google. At least neither my search terms above yielded any results as does the "try it out"-box of the Google Create a Custom Search Engine on the fly...

Oh? OK.
Just also putting it out there that I've given up all hope on the colapsable categories. If you'd like to make one disabled, make one that hides all the board (in each category) and on click it shows them and if you click again it hides them.
Unless someone else would like to make this code for the backup?

I still don't know why hiding things should make the forum more accessible. I'd do it, I already wrote the important code, but I think its worse then just seeing it all. I send you the code, so if you make something usefull of it (and you can still ask if you have questions) I'll include it.

Personally, I don't really see a point in it.

Nothing really exiting and new though, more the revival of an old project...
