Hmm... by definition, gases in PG SHOULD be pretty much near the same as floating powders, but with a few extra properties: Gas has pushing force, Fire gives wind, charged ant acts like Langton's ant. All powders and gases are affected by gravity, whether positive or negative: Gas and fire are affected upwards, powder, seed, gunpowder, etc. etc. have downwards force. Spark has a downward force, that is why it is considered a powder. Steam is weird, it's not a solid, it has no gravitational effect. The definition given by secret seems to be best. I think there should be another thread on this state of matter debate.

Hmm, maybe it is positively affected. But it certainly doesn't seem like a pattern. We should modify the definitions.
I agree with your conclusion on the new thread.

Who will start it?

Name: Ternmite Color: Brown or gray Type: Powder Description: builds walls/nests out of other powders (like how ants build walls/nests out of solids) Uses: Tunneling, making walls, and just messing with powder elements.
Also, it dies when it touches lighter elements, gets eaten by birds, and kills ants.

That has already been suggested and approved. Check out the "approved elements" sub-board. Also, you spelled termite wrong. Meh, I'll start the element debate board.

Name: Cloud Gas It is good for making planets, it can also make people fly and fall down slowly. White in colour. Lighter then gas so It goes up quicker. If you drag it it will become a liquid or bubbles.

Looks like cloud made it in, but with much different properties than suggested, except it goes up quicker than gas.
More ideas:
Name: C-5 Color: Gray between Metal and Stone Properties: EXACTLY THE SAME AS C-4, BUT ACTIVATED BY COLD (Ice, Snow) Uses: Endlessly more reactions (Lighting C-5 with water growing on ice, stopping lighting C-5 with snow-->water transformation)
Name: Translucent Color: Pale red Properties: Acts like both glass and metal: Is conductive when thunder goes on directly, can be charged with thunder indirectly through charged metal, splits a beam of laser shot at it, reflects one like metal, and lets other through. Melts semi-fast with magma. Uses: Technology

Name:Transformer Color:Light Brown Type:Solid Description:Transforms Thunder(or charged metal)into laser, and laser into fire, and fire into thunder. Transforms ice into water into cloud into snow into water. (thinking of transforming explosives, combustables, living and destructive elements but really can't see the point) Indestructable. Uses:Err....

Wait, does wind pass through it? It think it should be more of a non-element if it's indestructable, and it even is performing actions on elements without being affected, sorta like virus ball. Which is a non-element.

Hmm....not really sure if this would be the best thing, especially since we already have Virus Ball. I'm personally going to deny it, but let's see what some other keepers have to say...

well, fan and clone is indestructible. wind passes through it.

Post by Qwerty on Mar 9, 2011 14:18:40 GMT
Not really. Fan is, but it screws up the wind currents royally, and clone can be destroyed by virus. At any rate there's nothing nonreactive, as such, that allows wind to pass through it.

I'm not really sure if anything indestructible belongs in this thread.
Where are our element keepers!?

I'm right here. As to the inert element, I would believe there is an element entitled "inert" somewhere in the element list, is there not?

Okay, approval time!
C-5: I love it; would be great for arctic courses and chain reactions
Approved
Translucent: Seems okay, but I don't think translucent is the best name for it....

This is so commonly suggested that it has probably already been approved.

Post by Rock on Mar 15, 2011 0:26:20 GMT
Hmm, it probably is. I'll go check the list.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it would appear that coal was never actually approved. So:
Since coal is organic, I don't think it should be broken into stone. In fact, I think it should purely be a powder. I just want to hear you opinion on this before I do anything.

I don't think name has any effect on the element. In PG, Fire is made to go in the opposite direction of gravity. Which makes no sense. So it shouldn't be a big deal that coal turns to stone.
|
|
|
Post by Anonymousperson5 on Mar 19, 2011 22:28:37 GMT
But fire is not mass, thus it is not affected by gravity. The only reason it stays on the ground is because its fuel is affected by gravity.

Post by Vertigo on Mar 21, 2011 8:18:27 GMT
Last time I checked Anon5, gas = mass. And that's what the flame part of fire essentially is.
