Say Hi to sand block, he is a new block in my Game. Imagine DF with some extra features, constant updates, and MC Graphics and Style Layout for Crafting. On several different siz- Nevermind, no need to get into detail now. This is just a sneak. I think it's kinda funny.

This will start the new Minecraft. If this does become successful what will you do then? The popularity of the forums? Stock market? What will the company be named?

Jesus dude, it was just a thought, until someone (possibly here) can supply me with a decent modeling program and a programming program I can't start. These are just some 3D Models based after the bricks. There are, near 400 types of blocks that are solid, 3 air, and 20 liquid. Dynamic Liquids are a little... Not sure, just insanely hard to code I imagine.

I told you that you should make a thread so that you might get some help... With this new idea. I personally think this should be a very important matter...

Alright... In the meantime, I want to tell you I have a TON of images about these blocked saved. I'll list a few Blocks, Not including Liquids or airs or Ores
-PLANK WOOD (6 Types) -GRASS (6 Types)
I also wanted to say I have no idea on how to include plants... Your Empire Citizens will HAVE to sleep, eat, have happiness, have bedrooms (a very big pain to do manually)

Plants huh...? Well there should at least be some sort of... You're right. Plants... But first, what do you mean? Plants? Like for what reason would you need plants? Maybe you could even add a few myths that occur in the game, like... Sleeping with plants will give you an extra boost in the morning. I think I misunderstand what you are saying, so please explain.

What other special features do you want to mention about the "New Program" you are trying to make real? If any.

For liquids being insanely hard to code, I believe it will depend on how you are using the liquids. If they are blocks like in pg or zones like in many video games they shouldn't be too hard to code.

Have you ever played DF, it's pretty much like that, also, you can go in and edit the roof and floorings and walls of your rooms to be elaborate giant halls. Like I make in MC.

I can code out server software and gameplay, but somebody needs to do the client and graphics, unless you want to be stuck with an application that only works on windows...

Er, don't hate me for this. But this should be a Windows Only game at first, I'm not hating. But my main goal is to code it, not to play it. We can focus on that later. If you want to help me out then sure, though I have no idea on how we'll do it. If you can give me a 3D Model Program I can code 10 blocks a day. Seriously...

Have you tried Blender,it's pretty simple.

Wouldn't it be easier to just code in the blocks and use a texture for each wall?

The purpose of this thread is to show off the block. Not to talk about how to game my game. I'll check Blender though.

I've heard of dwarven fortress....the fluids sound complicated, but not "insanely hard".

They are much more realistic than minecraft and make a high end modern PC lag.
So yeah...

Well I'm guessing that since you referred to the 'physics' of the water in DF, you mean the 'pressure' and such. It shouldn't lag that much if you wanted to do a 'simple' 3D world. And you already know how the fluid in DF works. So it shouldn't be that hard.
But of course, in the real world, nothing goes as planned.

Memzak has a point. What's the point of a white cube introducing the game here and not in the blog?

Oh well, maybe we should stop posting in this thread and just let it die and move to the other thread?
Just a thought...
