So...ToS is making it have to be 13+?That might not be good for the younger members...Or new members...

Rule #2 of the internet: If you want to register somewhere and you don't fullfill a requirement like age, country, color, sex, ... ignore it. (Rule #1: Never register with your real name & address, unless there is a very good reason to, like they have to send you something.)

Age...Country...Color?I'm blue...Sex...Yeah.I guess it would be a good idea to obey these rules...But do any of the other members agree with this?

The proboards ToS has been that way since before we joined it. Everyone agrees to it and says they are over 13 upon registration.

American law requires that individuals must be twelve or thirteen years of age to register for Web sites and services, usually with assistance and/or consent from a legal guardian. If you act thirteen or above, portray common sense (e.g. knowing Rule #1 of the Internet), and so on, I will assume that you are here legally.
In other news, I hope that this post reminds everyone to know the rule summary on the first post of this thread.

Proboards is an American-hosted site, so I believe American laws apply. However, generally speaking, it's not like they actually care to enforce it.

If you that in one word, then ok.

Indeed, it isn't necessarily the quantity so much as the quality that we seek. If one has nothing worth posting, why bother posting?

to increase their post count......

Naturally if we some them we can lower their post counts. With interest. If you've got two good posts for every one bad one, then you'll break out even.

Me two.
But if they do something bad enough I dont blame them for banning them for ever.
Please refrain from double posting, let alone one minute after the first post. Please use the "Modify Post" button, which looks like a diagonal arrow.

Double post...usually I just post with a statement displaying that I agree with the posts prior to mine...I wouldn't think that counts as "intentionally increasing your own post count".

I think only one member has survived a one year ban and have the kahonas to come back.

Post by Qwerty on Oct 16, 2010 22:03:03 GMT
That's because only one member received a one-year ban. There were a few "permanent" once, but they were spammers and stuff.

Just out of curiosity how many times was Omni banned before he got the 1 year one?
Oh and in the first post the link to shirogake's profile is broken.

But I'm afraid we have all gotten off topic here. Perhaps we should go back to the discussion of forum rules?

That's the third or fourth time today I've seen you say "Maybe we should talk about ___".
We don't have much discussion there, unless anyone has ideas for new rules?

Really? I wasn't counting, but that means lots of people have been going off topic. As for being on topic in this thread.
I think we need to go over the bump rule. Shall it be put back, since the move was quite a while ago? Is it exactly 31 days since the last post? Which boards does it affect? Which boards does it not affect?
(such as the HAM or spam boards)

|
|
Post by Qwerty on Nov 16, 2010 0:53:11 GMT
Well, the bump rule really was pointless. It allowed for bumps if they were contributing and made with care, and posts that aren't would be killed anyway. It had nothing to do with the move, which was about six months ago, but instead was about the summer sleep session, where inactivity threatened us.

Ahh. Ok, but we aren't inactive now. We are actually very active now.
