Okay. Obviously nobody here is going to write entire cases (yet). I will now start a series of informal LD debates.
In your first "speech" you must only do the following, no more.
You must state your value. The value is what your case attempts to uphold (justice, liberty, etc.)
You are advised to state a value criterion, which is a path to upholding your value (maybe retribution for the value of justice, or upholding individual autonomy for the value of liberty)
You must state your arguments.
After the two sides each present their first "speech" then they will begin defending their first speech and arguing against their apponents first speech. There will be 6 such "speeches" 3 for each side.
Glove. You may now state your first speech. Make it good. Qwerty, do not comment.

We never started. Note the 2 or 3 times I told you to stop because we weren't debating yet.
So, as of now, our objective is this...

I seek liberty, and good quality of life. A step to not destroy this value is not to take the DNA of every person in the USA. With the power of knowing the DNA sequence of everybody, the government could punish those who speak up, and they couldn't hide, because of their DNA. Also, FORCING people to do this is sheerly astounding. I recall the Tenth Amendment: It says that what powers the constitution doesn't give the government is given to the people. I don't think forcing people to give away something that would erase all traces of privacy when the government is involved is one of the powers given to the government by the Constitution. noone can govern someone without their consent Also, the sheer unmanageability of this tactic would drain money out of the budget, taking away money for much needed things, like basic healthcare, police, education, and defense. It is unmanageable because this: Imagine the government having to manage all of the people's DNA, constantly adding or deleting according to deaths or births, constantly making it easily accessible so it can be used for its purposes. TO make this possible, the government would have to spend massive amount of money on staff and technology. THis wouldn't helpthe debt, and would take lots of money away on necessary things, as mentioned earlier. ALso, the time taken to find DNA samples, find it in the huge library of DNA, confirm it, and apprehend the person would be humongous, rendering the system moot. And in addition, the DNA investigation mmethods used today are capable enough at doing their job. There simply is no reason to create a global database.
