Every time I go to mod it causes a big upset. I am officially resigning from the chat. I owe no apologies, but I am seemingly incapable of delivering my judgment without causing a fuss. I request that I be allowed to retain my moderation powers on the forum.

It is quite unfortunate that it has come to this, but if this is how it must be, then so be it. I will let you keep your forum rank while I log in as Temporarily9 and unmod you from chat.
On the bright side, you aren't the first one to have suffered: Pickleman's chat moderation has had quite some opposition too, to the point that insults appeared on both chat and the forum.

Everything was perfect about my de-modding ceremony...

Ah, darn it. And we have a rule against former staff members re-joining, too. Ah well; at least you can remain a forum mod.
Speaking of forum mods, we really should judge them soon. Or should we leave it a permanent rank?

Waitwut?
Do forum mods get judged every now and then to see if they shall be banished for all eternity? OR just to see if they did a good job so far?

Qwerty, this was not an impulsive decision. I've been planning this for months. I just decided to do it now. I do not want to be a Chat Mod, I'm just bad at it.

Waitwut? Do forum mods get judged every now and then to see if they shall be banished for all eternity? OR just to see if they did a good job so far? To see whether they shall be promoted to Global Moderator, demoted to a standard member, or kept as they are. I thought we decided to keep Moderators at their current rank "indefinitely." Then again, that means no defined length, not infinitely.

I just don't want anybody to hate me. Is this too much to ask? Please, I did what I thought was right for myself and others, and I'm still getting flamed right and left. I honestly want to be the friend of every individual here!

I'm not flaming you... I actually like you. ;D
Oh and Veers, thanks for the explanation I thought it would be something similar to that.

Indeed, we aren't flaming you. You shall be our friend, chat mod or not. And you get to keep the chat mod badge.

Yea... That's one benefit of it...

Noone hates you... As I see it... They just dislike you for your opinions... Which have nothing wrong with them, for some reason. And everyone apparently ignores him on chat until he says something of considerable meaning.

I don't ignore him.
He doesn't really seem to say much anyways... (to me at least)

how many times has he resigned or left now

Left? Several. Resigned? Once, without the chance to ever become a chat moderator again because of our resignation policy.

Wait, there is a resignation policy?
What is it? Is it new? When was it added?
|
|
|
Post by Qwerty on Oct 24, 2010 19:42:18 GMT
It was added awhile ago, instated by Listo. It says then when a staff member resigns, there is no point re-hiring them because they are likely to simply resign again.

If it's a Listo thing we don't have to keep it...
Can I be a mod?

Post by Qwerty on Oct 25, 2010 5:08:55 GMT
We don't have to keep it, but we don't have to throw it away for no reason. It is a policy that makes sense, we have no reason to trash it.

Probably put in place after all the time ArchZero resigned.
Wait, does that mean awesome ex-staff can never become staff again? What about TSL?
(Probably the worst example considering what he did, but it still holds true. He resigned and only came back nearly a year later to be awarded the rank of administrator instantly)

TSL re-joined pre-policy. Plus he never really resigned, just faded off for awhile.

Didn't he say he had to leave because of California?

Post by Fringe Pioneer on Oct 26, 2010 14:31:04 GMT
Even then, I do believe that was pre-policy, as QwertyuiopThePie stated earlier...

Giving no point to my question, but I would still like to know the answer to it.

I believe he moved to California and said so, but did not say he had to leave. The leaving was a side-effect while he got stuff sorted out.

Ok I see. Thank you for enlightening me. Shouldn't we get back to discussing MF's smooth chat resignation? Even though it is quite over and we have drifted off topic...

Yep, and knowing us this thread is bound to have at least two pages of totally unrelated conversation.
