I can't remember all the old ones... Old one listWhy are wheels alive? Why are they hexagonal? (Armadillo picture, the fact that they can't unroll) Why do rice cakes look like houses? (Witty remark on the fact that houses look like rice cakes, not the other way) Why can six rice cakes bring you from near-certain death to full health (according to the wikia, one brings you 1/6 of the way.) Why are there Green Smiliey Walkers, when they die in one second of being found? Why is the numbers and types of enemies in each stage are the same? No matter how many times you go back? Why can Goldfishes (in Cavern) be immune to every attack and why is there only one per pool? And if there is one per pool, how can they breed?

I created this thread lol. I got a new one: Why do cacti shoot lasers?

About the wheels, I've always seen them as robotic rather than armadillos.
I think thats why they are hexagonal, they are manufactured.
Ot maybe it is some kind of vehicle, and the creature in the centre is riding it.

so the cacti are robotic too?

so the cacti are robotic too? I disagree, I think they are just cacti (as in plants)

Yes, and plants totally shoot lasers whenever you touch them.

It depends. You see, photosynthesis undergone in desert cacti may be slightly different to that of other plants. The photosynthesis could result in the creation of two fusionable elements, which could fuse to create a lance of pure energy, aimed towards a target entity. Science makes sense. :3

Wait, are we using this website from now on?

Yes. The old one has been utterly rotted through by Lag and Listo, we need this new one.

They aren't actually cacti, just as the mushrooms aren't actually mushrooms, and tree enemies especially aren't real trees. They're just cactus/mushroom/tree-esque MONSTERS.
The cacti enemies could, per say, fire their quills at the Rangers, right?

Oh no wonder why I couldn't get onto the old one.
On Topic: I dont think trees shoot fire. I dont think cacti shoot lasers

Maybe they are the same thing? They just prefer different plant forms?

i still dont understand how can a huge eel set up a freezing mine and even homing while also shooting flames from his head that also can move though the ground even though that is against the laws of physics.

Post by Rabidbadger on Jun 9, 2010 15:32:43 GMT
The huge eel hacked physics?

Post by Qwerty on Jun 10, 2010 1:35:05 GMT
The eel is really a giant robot. The fire is greek fire. The mines are alien technology. It has multiple guns.

what is greek fire and how can it move though solid stuff like what the huge eel shoots. also how do the fire burns underwater anyway?

Post by Qwerty on Jun 10, 2010 14:07:59 GMT
It burns underwater because it is greek fire. It doesn't actually move through solid stuff, it just takes the third dimension in a two-dimensional game (meaning, it's really in the plane just behind the ground).

what is greek fire and how can it move though solid stuff like what the huge eel shoots. also how do the fire burns underwater anyway? Greek fire definitely works underwater. Whilst we don't know the exact composition of Greek fire, there are still many, many modern equivalents (mostly explosive chemical mixtures) which we can use to test how Greek fire would have worked in ancient times.

And Greek Fire burns underwater because the oxygen was likely in the bouyant fuel.

Yes. The old one has been utterly rotted through by Lag and Listo, we need this new one. Who's lag and listo? and why would they destroy a forum? Back to topic: But why do greekfire penetrate rock and walls?
|
|
|
Post by Qwerty on Jun 14, 2010 22:59:19 GMT
It penetrates rock and walls because it isn't really a 2D game, and there's an alternate plane behind all that stuff that the fire can enter.
Listo was our previous owner, but when he left he gave them to Lag, a complete stranger who was also a total jerk, constantly ranting about such things as loyalty despite only making five posts in his entire career. We made the new forums and moved here, and in a fit of rage Lag deleted the old forum, but not before Disabled backed it up.
Listo himself impeded progress a lot and kept many members away (Doomish, Shortcakes, Jakebob, etc), but he used to be a nice guy.
Also, they may be the same person.
That seems to do for that, so shall we return to the topic?

Arent we taking this a little too far, I mean it is just a game, like cartoons, really weird stuff just happens.

The point of this thread is to make fun of that stuff, and find unlikely explanations for it.

I kinda agree with zoshix, questioning fantasy elements is quite pointless and not very funny. You have to look out for the illogic stuff that is not meant to be illogic. The original post had at least a few of them (IMO 1,4 and 6 are good ones).

It's funny for us. Whether or not you find it funny has no relation to whether or not we find it funny. That's like walking into a thread where everyone is having fun and saying "You should not be having fun! I do not find it funny so you shouldn't!"
If you don't like the contents of the thread, don't post in it. Easy.

Or maybe, how can balloons suddenly develop minds and faces of their own, can fly around independently, and can drop stuff on any characters that get close to it?

It also wonders me how smiley monsters can carry huge weapons inside them without dying. It's also a miracle how the Castle Boss lives in his castle without food or water.
