or maybe their all realistic looking high tech machines, that would explain all the weird attacks and flight, it may have some sort of miniture rocket or special hot air that allow it to float forward, sideways etc.

The Castle Boss does have food. He can eat all the other stickmen.

The Castle Boss only has to walk a few miles until he reaches his castle's gate and it's food galore.

Or his head is a fridge.

Maybe the stones he throws are actually all the frozen buns from his headfridge?

but how can a cavern be underwater

why so much water in the desert?

Caverns can be underwater very easily, Greg. In fact, a lot of the world's caverns are fully or at least partially submerged. I agree with the bun-bomb idea. And the desert has so much water because otherwise the fish would all be dead. Or maybe they already are and the water is a mirage...

So the entire Desert stages are just illusions of the mind?

Indeed. The SMS Boss actually released a cloud of toxic spores upon the death of your rangers, so the entire Desert series is just a dreamworld.

He controlled you, the player, from the very beginning! He's actually a Green Smiley Walker infused with the Castle Boss. He ruled over the world map ever since you stepped upon it.

Indeed. A Green Smiley Walker infused with a fridge on stilts.

Of course. However I do find a walking fridge very rational.

I dont...
but I always wonder why monsters heads were always in odd shapes such as stars or squares....

One thing explains all: ha55ii sitting in the last level, controlling every single thing with a control, all day long, just to keep us entertained! They are just the 1337 coding power of ha55ii and his team to make all the dead lines and pixelated things move!
