New : PEN-line correction. PEN-line now works like this: You choose PEN-line, you click at the first spot of the line, you hold the mouse down, you move the mouse to the second point, and then you let go.

But how are we gonna use straight lines like horizontal and vertical?

That lock to axis feature is no longer there.

For vertical lines make sure you x value stays the same.
They should re-add another pen to replace the old pen-line.

No, the whole point of the red line is so you can see the straightness etc of the line before creating it. You ought to at least be able to spend that little bit of extra time if you are getting all the benefits from the new update. Not to mention that another pen function will spend another update on improving the pen, instead of getting new elements...

^OR, he could implement it with a new element(unlikely). He already has the code.

But then again, another thing clogging the pen:n tool unneccesarily would get annoying eventually.

I was aware last night was a update night but I was sleepy and gone to bed around midnight EST. I kinda glad it was not a Stick Ranger update as I love to make the threads in the SR update board. Yes, I am odd like that. =P
I personally like this update. The element/BG/balls may have been nice for a day or so but this is something that will permanently improve the game. This update come close to the reduce lag update in terms of usefulness and yet seem "useless" on the day of the release.

I don't enjoy the new update. It's something that will take awhile to get used to, and just more pointless updates will pile up. I was also happy it wasn't a Stick Ranger update (THAT GAME GETS TOO MANY UPDATES) but then I got all excited, clicked it, and was extremely let down. It makes drawing a simple straight line hard. A STRAIGHT LINE.

They should have added stuff instead of changing it. Changing it is never good unless you keep the old. There should be three line options.

Also, three line options wouldn't make it any harder to get to any pen option than 2 line options. You can use either right click or left click to get to any pen in one click.

This is an awful update!
The only advantage I can see is when placing diagonal metal to reflect lasers. But even this is a poor feature, as all we needed was the original line tool with a 45 degree lock added.
Its not often that you get an update that makes the game significantly worse.

I agree with your last part, but I would rather have an update that was completely useless rather than something that makes PG even more complex

This update does not make the game significantly worse. It just changes 1 aspect of it. You can still draw horizontal and vertical lines.

If he doesn't readd the old pen-line in the next PG update, I might do it with my firefox addon...

I persaknally like this update. yes it would be better if there was a third update for horizontal and verticle lines, but still this is pretty useful.
did anyone else here actually start to use it instead of just test it, then only use it for straight lines?
ive been messing with fuse wires trying to make an and not gate with them and ice, and its way faster to use this way.

After I saw what you can do with a little bit of hacking and coding I believe that would be something simple you could easily do. A simple check box near the game to enable the axis lock could be a simple way to enable and disable the feature. I can easily draw lines myself...Could be those years on MS paint mastering that line tool but I find it easy myself. I will still support the addon as it seem a lot of people have a problem with this or simply too lazy to take the extra 5 secs to make the line.

Personally, I fell in love with the thing. Never before has making a diagnal 'Icy-Slide-of-Death' been so quick and easy. Plus, horizontal/vertical lines are still pretty easy, just adjust the scale to your pen size.
