What are your thoughts on aliens? I say, that with the universe so huge, there HAS to be something out there. The attached picture was taken(Prt Scrn) By me, a few years ago. It's centered less than 2 miles north of my house. It is also in the intro scene to my local weather station's weather segment. Creeeeeeeepy. Attachments:

Something out there, but it's probably not here. Same conclusion we agreed upon last thread.

Really, I just wanted to post the picture. But considering "Serious Debate" was the forum, I figured I'd add a discussion.

Don't forget there exist parallel dimensions. And that means there is also one just like ours only where people are red, pie is healthy and everybody uses wheelchairs. That's my opinion. And now stop flaming, trolling, swearing, 1337 speak, spreading pron and bribing. Now you are all arrested.

What do parallel universes (universes, not dimensions) have to do with aliens that visit Earth from this universe and in this universe?
Besides, I'm certainly not locking the thread. There are still possibilities for discussion. Please, if you want a thread locked at least give a reason. Really, Artifact. Last post I saw from you was a double-post and this one is solid spam in the serious debate board. I'll have to give you a warning before long.

I posted this on a different forum, and my first reply was "Just be calm when the probing starts. ::Amused::" Haha.

I think there is, I mean we can't be the only life form on a planet.

We aren't the only life form "on a planet". There's also fish and birds and naked mole rats.

(Ignoring Earth as an example to remove bias.) Well, we found fossilized life on Mars; so obviously it does occur on the microscopic level.
Factor in the chances for planet-wide extinction, evolution, and planet conditions like gravity and density... It's still technically possible that we're not the only space-age civilization, just not likely to be thousands and thousands like in Starwars.
Of course, there's always the chance that the fossils we've discovered on other planets are actually remnants from the debris that would have left the atmosphere had there been a collision between Earth and something else.
EDIT: Though I doubt they would all this way to poke in our butts and draw pictures with the weather...

Ah, but we didn't find fossilized life on Mars. We found what could have been fossilized life and also could have been rocks.

[quoted]and naked mole rats. [/quote]
Lol.
I think there is bound to be life out there. There can't not be life.
And what if we find life light years away?

...except we haven't found fossils on other planets. Due to the nature of the subject, every other day there's someone claiming to have found fossils, but every time it is later discovered that it is more likely mineral formations or the like.

Its not something I think about often, but hen the subject, you can't persuade me that there isn't some form of life out there, more than likely intelligent life.
What i'm curious is if we have or have not made contact. If there are aliens 'watching' us, i'm convinced that we've either dissuaded them from contacting us, or they're still 'studying' us from afar (in which case they may or may not have plans for officially contacting us).

I severely doubt that we will ever come into physical contact with aliens. Other solar systems capable of harbouring life would be just too far away to reach without some form of FTL travel, which is supposed to be impossible.

You forget suspended animation, generation ships, and complete abuse of general relativity.
