One-word posts are not wrong, they're just short.

They contribute nothing to a conversation. Saying "Indeed" or "bad" or "no" is hardly saying anything at all. I'll probably start removing such posts from your post count soon, with interest.

Well, the rules do.

The rules can be changed.

The rules aren't likely to be changed for a single person. Now we must get back on-topic: Karma.

Starting with September 16, 11:00 FST, Omni was only smited once while MicroFarad was only smited twice over the course of two days. I see no spam...

I saw 2 Members that got spam smited: Omni and MF. Again, I have been using Smiting instead of Exalting, and vice versa for OMNI/Clockworks/Eltoneyes He said that he liked -Karma. Is there anything wrong with this?

I got a warning and I have tried to change my double posting ways.

Why is this here? You need to read the thread title first, shkids. This is not the place to complain about your warning bar.

Eh, it's not really a complaint, and I have noticed no double posts from him since then.

You are over halfway through having the warning removed. Anyway, back to karma?

Sometimes, it's better if you just left the person's karma alone. Nothing to hate for, nothing to love for.

True, atleast I know you didn't force mine to go down. Anyway help people and you will be helped and so on until you get karma.

If only. t seems that people around here are too lazy to do anything but smite anymore.

Post by QwertyuiopThePie on May 15, 2011 3:02:07 GMT
How does that make sense? Too lazy to do anything but smite? Smiting is just as easy as exaltation and doing nothing is easier than both. Laziness doesn't factor into it.

I just mean that I rarely see people get exalted anymore. The only reason my karma is going up is because I'm currently weaning it out of my karma reserve that I built after I was spam smote. And also, smote, not smited, is apparently the correct past-tense for smite.

"Weaning it out of my karma reserve"? What karma reserve?

I smite those I beleivehave beem mean but add karma to those who I like or have been helpful, I added 1 to rock so far and 2 to the colemak, I got it to 100.

I'm not sure, but is it really necessary for people to smite or exalt more than once? I mean... If they've done it before, then they can probably do it some time in the future, but nearing each other in order to get more than just one to the recipient? I find it unnecessary.

True, true. If they are being good and sending blossoms eerywhere you can exalt them for one thing and exalt them for another in a short time. But don't exalt twice for one incident, nononono...
And I don't know who smote me recently. I haven't been bad or irresponsible or mean since I can remember! D:

I got smited like 3 times in 4 or 5 days, 2 for the stranded adn the 1 for the 11% warning I think.

Post by Alonso on May 23, 2011 17:02:16 GMT
And that, but can you be smited by the different people in the same hour and also is it per computer or acount.
|
|
|
Post by Fringe Pioneer on May 23, 2011 19:13:51 GMT
A given user can only exalt/smite any other given user once per hour. I always forget whether the exalter/smiter can exalt/smite other accounts in the same hour or not, but other accounts can of course exalt/smite the same exalted/smited user in the same hour.
Person A is the target of smiting. People B, C, and D can all smite Person A at the same time, although if they vote at t = 0 hours, none of them can smite again until t = 1 hour.
Now, let's say Person B wants to smite spam Person A, so Person B goes onto a different computer and same IP under the name of Person Beta. Person Beta logs in with Person B's account, so now two different computers from the same IP are using the same account simultaneously. Person B already smited Person A, so he uses his other computer as Person Beta to smite Person A. If I'm correct, this fails, because the account already smited Person A, so no matter what machine is on, Person B's account already smited Person A's account and can't do so until 60 minutes from the moment of the last successful smite.
