I wonder if anyone else noticed where the next sign is positioned if there are two floors at the end of a stage. For a long time, the next sign always was on the upper floor. On the desert stages, the next sign is always on the lower floor. I wonder if there is a reason for this and if I forgot levels that have the next sign on the lower floor. Here is a screenshot of what I mean:

maybe they wanted to make the desert stages harder by changing the next sign so you wont be able to just boss rush on them all the time.

The hill country focus on going up high, not low, and the desert wants you to go through the pyramid, not over.

I would agree with Satar. I doubt that the developers didn't want to deal with it. I mean, it should only take a couple of lines of script to set a 'next' sign's priority to 'high as possible'. That isn't too hard...

I wonder what you mean by "I don't think they cared"? Of course they cared or else they wouldn't have changed it. Sure its just a few lines of code and it doesn't make a huge difference, but they still did it. I just wondered if anyone else noticed it and if anyone could make sense of it, but it doesn't seem so.

In desert it would look a bit screwed up if they placed it on the pyramid. Thats why.

I have to agree with Satar, they probably wanted you to go through the structures/pyramids/whatever to come to the Next sign. It's just the design of the level.
