Suppose the various enemies could crossbreed and mix traits. What would result?
One example is the Spider-Cactus. It attacks in swarms, and is very small, however it only attacks when attacked.

How this for "Cross Breeding": Turquoise Big Wheel-Dragon Smiley-Skull It soars through the air as quick as a wheel and has the Dragon-tail attacked to it's head and the wheel around the head as usual, and with the head of a smiley face with a skull head in the middle. Here's a picture of it (since I love using MS Paint): I have created an interesting enemy, haven't I?

Now let's mix it with submarine shrine and see where that gets us.

Other than the obvious triple-Mega Boss combination, an interesting enemy hybridization would be a Grey X-Stickman...

Ah, the triple mega-boss. It can walk, it can swim, it can hurl poison fireballs, throw heavy red arrows, emit paralyzing clouds of gas (much like Veers can), and if you get too close you are done for.

We already have species crossbreeds: Eels (fish+snake) and dragons(bat+snake).

Spoilsport... A grey spider-mushroom. Leaps around and poisons you to hell when you hit it.

LOL. bat + walker... (on the Dan/Fan/WTF-Ball Wiki, someone created a new species: bird. Bird is acutally an hybrid of bat and walker).
My idea is that all ennemies on a stage could be fusioned, creating an huge enemy with every attacks of the stage. example: the opening street boss: Big two arrow: 8-12 (range: 40), used by Green/Cyan/Red Smiley Walker Big Ball: 6-8 (range:100), used by Blue X Walker Ball: 2-2 x10 (range: 100), used by Grey Boss Smiley Walker

How about the Dhoom-Cactus? Every time you hit it it summons 100 White Troll Stickmen? Each stickman has 100 health, and deplenishes your character's sanity meter by 1% per hit. Back in the realms of sensibility, however, a bat stickman would be even better. It would look really stupid, but very funny.

Boss Mushroom Dragon. Flies around and shoots tons of purple pellets at you.

How anout a fying castle boss, with the 2 normal attacks and it takes lp, like a vampire with swooping low, allwing physical contact.

If it flies then we're screwed. Also, taking LP? Not something that anyone's going to want to have to deal with... A few long range weapons might do the trick.

yeah, but it actuaaly flies down, think about it, it is slow so easy to dadge but it can be attacked long and short.

How about a creature with two attacks? One is a small one-damage laser (infinite range, slow attack), and the other is spawning more of itself. Infinitely.

Umm...that would be extremely hard to beat if it just keeps spawning itself.

Post by Qwerty on May 24, 2011 2:35:15 GMT
Exactly my point. It's nearly impossibly to beat even though each individual one is a weakling. Also, the ones that it spawns also spawn more.

Angel would tear them apart. Penetrating attacks against a tonne of weak enemies always work well.

So, you attack ten, twenty appear. So on and so forth.

Isn't there a hard limit of 100 enemies on-screen?
|
|
|
Post by Fringe Pioneer on May 25, 2011 6:52:51 GMT
Yes, yes there is. Assuming there is only one such enemy on the screen to start, only eight full generations and part of the ninth generation could be spawned...

A spawner of castle bosses, like only 5 on screen at a time andlimit of a 100.

Well, there is a boss, (I'm not sure of the level) which fires mines at you. They float in the water until you come too close, at which point they home in and do quite a lot of damage when they hit you. If that was crossed with an X walker, so the mines lie on the ground until you come too close, that would be interesting... and what would happen when your right next to the boss and it keeps missing you?

it is oasis boss, it goes towards you. so x walkers doing that, no.
