I am somewhat annoyed that all the tech here seems to be various computational devices, like logic gates and memory, through different mediums, but not a lot of other stuff. Do we really need to see how many different ways we can make the exact same thing? Computing has been studied for nearly 100 years, so do we really need to keep studying it? What happened to timers, bridges, things that grow rapidly once triggered, and just plain weird stuff? Computing is just one of many things that qualify as technology, and is honestly not the most interesting or useful of them.

Ah, but it is when it is applied. Mostly it's done for the sake of doing something neat, but when applied within, say, a player course, it can accomplish things no non-computer could do.

If you're so interested in them, why don't you make them yourself?

I lack the patience, the ability, and the creativity.

Most of the things a computer can do can be accomplished with non-computers, the advantage the computer has is being programmable. However, in a limited environment like powder game, it's better to find a way to do it without computers as the non-computer is more efficient at doing the one thing it's meant to do. Plus, computers are the EASY way to do things, we've already done all the math for that, finding other ways to do it is more challenging and thus more interesting.

Did... did you really just try to resume a conversation from 2011?
