My MacBook Pro is dying...
The Airport card will randomly drop off from the network, the graphics card can't seem to produce vibrant colors when needed, the hinges are too lose, and the computer overheats after a few minutes of playing a game or even using GIMP, the ambient light sensor is shot, and the battery only lasts about an hour and a half. Its had a good run, almost 5 years now....
Now for the big decision: Pay $310 for Apple to ship it off and have it fixed, for $1800 for a new one that'll last another 4 years...

Another choice. You can employ the services of failship. We sell comps way cheaper than apple. Usually Windows and Linux, but we could make an exception if you really want mac. It'll be more expensive if you go with mac, though. I know this sounds like an ad, but I really think we could help you. For 1800 dollars we can get you something way better than Apple can provide for four years. Just PM me for more details, I don't want to sound like a sales pitch here. Let's just do a side-by-side on the 1800 dollar one: We also build laptops if you really want to.

Or, you can buy a much better and cheaper Windows machine, install Mac OSX on it, and have a computer that will last EVEN LONGER than 4 years.
Don't waste 300 on repairs, and most certainly don't waste money on a new iMac.

yes, just buy a non-overpriced computer that'll last longer than that, and put mac os on it, if you really need to, but i don't see why you would. i would consider doing qwertyuiobs offer, if you were thinking of buying a new mac os PC. maybe do some more researching, because i am not really sure who makes high quality computers, but i think i heard lenovo(maybe it is not lenovo), or IBM, so, just do some research. also, i guess it depends what you're going to use the computer for
