The Official "Well Rounded" Badge CHALLENGE!IntroductionHello DBF users! Welcome to the OWRBC! What we have here are two design candidates for the "Well Rounded" Badge! Badge DescriptionThis badge was suggested by izacque as a challenge badge. The challenge is to have your username visible in every board of the forum (excluding locked boards and staff boards) visible on the home page. The idea being that your name would be repeatedly plastered on all the boards. The benefit of this badge is two-fold. First, it encourages overall activity by people posting a lot. Second, it encourages posting in less-popular boards. QwertyuiopThePie suggested it be named "Well Rounded" because our boards have such varied subject matter. The Candidates | | | Artist | izacque | Rock | | This is a badge about posting in every board. That's why I have one danball game, a contest cookie, a yen (used in the shopper badge), and a musical note (arts, etc.) If I could, I'd add more, but that'd make the badge more cluttered. This seems to me to be a most diverse group of boards. | We're the Dan-Ball Forums. And I don't see how a resized cookie and a music note possibly relate to that. |

We're the dan-ball forum, yes, but being well-rounded isn't about being soley dan-ball. It's about being well-rounded. As such, I pick Izac's.

I vote for Izacque, but it would be better with Rock's text.

Both badges are good, but even though we are principally the Dan-Ball Forum, being well rounded means focusing on more than just the Java game threads...

Well, if its about meaning, and not quality, then I would like to replace mine with this:

Well, now that you took care of the meaning, you just need to unclutter your badge. For now, I still must keep my vote with Izacque's badge...

I know, it's just that if any of those pieces are removed, and equal piece must also be removed, which takes to much away. I'll have to play with it tomorrow.

I like Izacks, and sseeing as you both went for stick ranger pics I went for Izacque, because I love music, and it looks good. 4 qeustions, what if you have done it before, and does it start form the chossing of the badge, and how do you prove it? Also how do you post on public, bacause sometimes you can, sometimes you can't?

Izacque all the way, it's just that Rock's badges were never good and won't ever be.

Izacque's badge is clean, bright, and symbolically gets the point across. Your badges are clustered, dark, and symbolically focus more on one aspect of the forum (information sharing) than the other (socializing)...

Because games and contests focus on information sharing. If you want a two-dimentional, flat, unsymmetrical, mess of a badge with a resized virtual cookie and music note, which in no way possible relates to anything on this forum, then BY ALL MEANS, go ahead.

From what I saw it's actually a rather interesting badge. All parts of it connect to different parts of the forum, without excess focus on dan-ball. It also avoids being cluttered and frankly the background color is better. Believe me, not every badge not made by you sucks.

If you want a two-dimentional, flat, unsymmetrical, mess of a badge with a resized virtual cookie and music note, which in no way possible relates to anything on this forum, then BY ALL MEANS, go ahead. Your badge isn't two dimensional, flat, and unsymmetrical? It seems to me that it is. Why, one might conceivably perceive your badge as being multidimensional and not-flat, but one would have to be blatantly lying to imply that your own badge is symmetrical. With respect to the qualities you mentioned, neither badge is better than the other; however, one important difference is that Izacque achieves good balance. Balance and symmetry are by no means the same thing. If it's not balanced, I don't see how it can be symmetrical; however, if it's not symmetrical, it can still be balanced. If Izacque's badge isn't evidence of that, I don't know what is. A virtual cookie relates to your Virtual Cookie Badge, which is about contest participation, which is one thing we encourage on the forum for good activity. The music note, as Izacque himself mentioned, is about the arts. It may not be a particularly active part of the forum, but guess what? Engaging in the Art Board is one way of being well rounded and visiting otherwise forsaken parts of the forum.

Now, forgive me if I'm wrong, but I have never seen a music thread made in the art board.

Rock, you have to understand that this forum isn't based only about dan-ball games. If we were what you think, we would've been pretty much dead by now, since wouldn't have any conversations not related to danball games.

lol rock I get your point about the music note. If I were trying to be more literal, I'd go for like the Photoshop paintbrush cursor. But the note is more symbolic. Also, if it makes you feel any better, I made that Virtual cookie myself. I used a color picker to get the right colors, but I laid out the chocolate chips myself

"4 qeustions, what if you have done it before, and does it start form the chossing of the badge, and how do you prove it? Also how do you post on public, bacause sometimes you can, sometimes you can't?"
Uh, If I correctly understand your English, you wish to know: 1) Does this badge cover past events, or must you be "well rounded" after the badge is decided on? 2) What kind of proof does this badge require? 3) What about boards you can't post in?
Answers: 1) This badge counts for past events as well as future. 2) You need a screenshot. I recommend zooming out your browser window and going fullscreen (F11) and then using your screenshot method of choice. 3) Public archives is a locked board, so if you don't post in there, it's fine.

Copying text is not proof, as it's significantly too easy to edit the text. At least with a screenshot, it would take more effort to edit properly. Technically, there is no "proof" on the Internet, only evidence, but screenshots are stronger evidence than text...

You have to save the image to your computer by pasting it onto paint and clicking SAVE. Then go to imgur.com and upload it. Copy the code for Message Boards and Forums, and then paste that code into into a post.
