When I saw the words "Paint addition", I was thinking of something that changed the colour of an element and kept its reactions the same... But I guess that was just me being over-expectant of PG art utilities. Instead, the paint addition turns an element to another selected element... reactions and all. So, apart from a slight efficiency upgrade, are there really any other uses for this?

Well, it's more of a replace mode than a paint tool. So it could be used if you want to change an element to better a reaction or made a mistake that needs to be changed. Other than that, not really.

the main problem I see with it: it replaces all connected dots.

Mm... But that's the magic of fill tools. Maybe it could be used for mouse-operated switches in tech? For example, turning a slab of insulator such as stone, into mercury to allow thunder to pass through... The way I see it, ha55ii wanted to implement something so you didn't have to clear and fill in if placed a wrong element, or if you want to experiment with something different in its place.

For the kind of stuff I do on PG, it has absolutely no use at all. I think ha55ii might have read my post on the PGCB shortly after his, but he only fixed an algorithm mistake; not changing it to what we expected.

Mhm... Well, changing pen-paint won't do anything to current uploads, unless my idea of its use in tech is utilised...

True, but I think the only tech I will make will be self running. AND WHO THE HE'LL SMITED ME, CREST?!

Mhm. Paint could probably be used by noobs for "glitches", which would in fact be stray dots of liquid screwing things up... *sigh*

This is a cool update, it was kind of hard for me to understand at first, but now I understand it. I am sure it'd be useful for some stuff, but I am thinking of what.

Hmm... Fixing terrible mistakes, and possibly mouse-operated switches. That's all I can think of.

If you are trying out to see what color looks best in your upload instead of drawing the thing again, you could use paint. Also, if your making a menu instead of drawing the letters you could just get torch letters and use paint to just change the color instead of drawing it again.

To me paint is just something fun. I like it, because I can change the elements on the fly.

That too. I guess ha55ii just wants to encourage PG's "experimental" side.

It has been occasionally useful for Player Course design. Handy to be able to easily swap out different elements to eliminate reaction issues.

Mm. It'd be better if they had one that worked on enclosed areas, though.

I actually enjoy the Paint tool. I certainly didn't expect it, but it sure does making experimentation with different elements in the same place really easy...

It was sort of a disappointment not getting a new element, but I guess new elements can't keep coming forever.

Yup... I could kinda tell some sort of recolour or re-element tool was coming when I saw pink vine and blue wood on the thumbnail...

No one does... Unless you just happen to make a HUGE mistake, like find you've put a massive lump of G-Powder instead of Oil, and the computer is glitched so you can't go beyond Pen-S 0... VERY likely.

Yeah i guess it's useful if you made a mistake. Instead of carefully clearing it with a little chance you'll clear stuff you don't want to clear you can just use Pen Paint.
