Should the forum be narrower like it used to be? The wideness is a more strenuous on the eyes to me.

Think columns are more readable. That's why newspapers are published in columns. It's less strenuous if your eyes are moving across less of a distance per line.

I don't think it should be as narrow as it was before... ...but I don't think it should be this wide either.
Possibly somewhere in between would work.

Yes, although it shouldn't be too much slimmer than our current size, due to the fact that we aren't using any gradients in the skins, right?

Is there any way to break the body of text into a couple columns then?

I think the original width was way better, as explained already. Plus it's one of the major causes of slow forum loading for me.

A slimmer forum doesn't load any faster... In fact, this design only uses 4 images not counting the icons (which the old skin used as well). There is about the same amount of javascript too.

I HATE this wide skin. Having to scroll to read whole posts and even just to scroll chat is SO annoying.

"You don't have to scroll" is incorrect. My laptop screen only shows about the left half of the forum.

What? I thought this was an adaptable format, that used percents.

Not on a lot of Windows displays. And if I shrink the window to about 2/3 the size, I also have to horizontally scroll to read the entire post.

I am not too fond of this overly-wide layout, I think the original width was more preferred over the latter...

No, It's better like this. I agree. I know alot of web designers say that narrow blocks of text are easier to read, but thats not something that bothers me. I have a 16:9 widescreen monitor. What bothers me is when all that horizontal space is wasted.

Honestly, I'm used to it already. I will admit that it was annoying at first, though.

I have a laptop regular monitor, although it's semi-widescreen, and I can barely see anything. IT's hugely annoying, and I hate to have to constantly scroll to read posts, or zoom out to an annoying text size.

...says the person who uses Internet Explorer. Yes, ProBoards doesn't have a certain beginning tag necessary to make certain functions work in IE, and so yes, this forum doesn't work with IE. I'm sorry, but if GGoodie is correct, it won't be possible to fix that without huge workarounds, assuming such huge workarounds even exist. Granted, I'm not a web programmer, but this is all from what I understand...

Why not contact Proboards, get them to add it?
