Request Demotions, Pending Demotions will be kept in the main post along with vote counts. If an overwhelming vote takes place. The admins would surely take action.

An actual case is not needed. As long as an overwhelming majority vote goes against you. I am not actually voting for a demotion. Just a bit of advice that if you want to keep from being hated you have to learn to bend the ruiles a bit. Or stretch them. Too strong a grip and forum will just move.

THose were both perma-enforced rules I enforced. A case is needed, and despite what may be wante, this is not a troll playground.

Staff will much more willingly demote a moderator if you explain why you want a moderator demoted. You can win with logic. Please explain, why do you all want MachPunch demoted? Surely, this isn't about him banning someone who posted a link to illegal content, is it? Surely it's more than that?

No. Let him stay a mod.

Machpunch cannot handle being a moderator, He's just too immature. Get someone better suited to it. Someone who can moderate. GeneralVeers can, Temporarily9 can, Shadowlord can, Fox kinda can, Viros can. But machpunch, absolutely not. This happened with kuraikiba. He was a swell guy until he was given modship. Showing his true colors slowly. Unless machpunch straightens up soon. I also vote for him. I mean no offense but he's bit too unstable. And he takes his rules very seriously.

Any specific examples? The entire forum can vote for a demotion but it will get nowhere without specific reasoning (which GENOGA provided) and examples.

...Qwerty, the reason some people are angry is because I had banned Dhoom for the pirating link. And banning nmagane for the porn link prolly didn't help either.
Also, if you're not voting for my banning, thrn exactly why are there two requests for my banning accordgint to the top counter?

I do like the fact you banned for the porn link. You should ban porn. But a torrent link isn't a porn link. Torrenting isn't automatically pirating.

The rule against illegal sites is as strong as the porn site rule. It was his duty to ban people who link to torrents.
We can't have people voting for demoting mods. Pure democracy's without reason are just retarded popularity contests and everything goes downhill. Here we use reasoning, not votes.

If I have my facts straight, wasn't the link a torrent of pirated software? It's not the fact that it was a torrent that caused the ban, but the fact that it was a piece of stolen property...

Everyone owned the software. Dhoom wanted to give me a small torrent so I could test mount an iso. Everyone online at the time owned an updated version of the software being provoided.

It's still illegal, as it was a pirating link, and somebody could have come on and pirated it. Quite frankly, no matter what you or others might say, pirating is illegal, so it was therefore against the rules to post that link.

Everyone owned the software. Dhoom wanted to give me a small torrent so I could test mount an iso. Everyone online at the time owned an updated version of the software being provoided. This is why there is a thing called private messaging. As for user MachPunch, I do not see immaturity coming from him throughout the forum, although when my Chatango was working he did tend to be childish at times. Whether or not this behavior has continued is an assumption. Regardless, MachPunch is not worthy of a demotion from the forum nor the chat. The indefinite ban for the link user Dhoom provided may appear to be a tad harsh, but again that is what private chat is for, and it is to protect the forum security.

It wasn't indefinite, just until the admins decided he would be unbanned.

If I might speak in my own defense, I was not suited that well for the job in the first place. I got demoted because I couldn't keep my mouth shut. Did the job fine, but I was far from having the forked tongue required for modship. I've been a leader, just not for people like there are here. I would have an easier time converting the entirety of /b/ to Catholicism than to corral the trolls here.
Now, let me speak as to the matter at hand: Mach. Mach is quite young for a moderator, so both experience and maturity are more difficult to have acquired under his belt. He has merit though. He goes by protocol, he bans when needed, he does what is needed when is needed. The dissatisfaction of trolls does not make him a bad mod, it just means trolls will be trolls.
Given the environment, his relatively low age, and the influence trolls can have, he does quite a fine job of warning, banning, and moderating, with relatively little needed prompt or direction. He does the job, he does it fine. Face it, just because two or three idiots are unhappy doesn't make him a MicroFarad.

Not like it matters now: If he's leaving the forum because he was only here to talk to one person, he doesn't seem to understand the concept of a forum and would be better off without staffship.
